Knockout (board Game)
''Knock Out'' is a family tabletop game for two or more players published by the Milton Bradley Company in 1991. Gameplay The players set up a wall of plastic bricks of various colors, with a special large "Knockout" brick embedded in the center of the wall. On their turn, the active player rolls a color-coded die and then must remove a brick of the corresponding color from the wall with a small battery-powered "jackhammer". If the player is successful, the brick is placed on top of the wall, and play continues. If the player knocks more than one brick out of the wall, but the special "Knockout" brick remains in place, the brick that the player was attempting to remove is set on top of the wall, and the other downed bricks are removed from the game. If, however, the special "Knockout" brick is dislodged and hits the table, the offending player is eliminated, the remaining players rebuild the wall, and another round is played. Milton Bradley Company
Milton Bradley Company or simply Milton Bradley (MB) was an American board game manufacturer established by Milton Bradley in Springfield, Massachusetts, in 1860. In 1920, it absorbed the game production of McLoughlin Brothers, formerly the largest game manufacturer in the United States. It became a division of Hasbro in 1984. History Foundation Milton Bradley found success making board games. In 1860, Milton Bradley moved to Springfield, Massachusetts, and set up the state's first color lithography shop. Its graphic design of Abraham Lincoln sold very well, until Lincoln grew his beard and rendered the likeness out-of-date. Struggling to find a new way to use his lithography machine, Bradley visited his friend George Tapley. Tapley challenged him to a game, most likely an old English game. Jackhammer
A jackhammer (pneumatic drill or demolition hammer in British English) is a pneumatic or electro-mechanical tool that combines a hammer directly with a chisel. It was invented by William Mcreavy, who then sold the patent to Charles Brady King. Hand-held jackhammers are generally powered by compressed air, but some are also powered by electric motors. Larger jackhammers, such as rig-mounted hammers used on construction machinery, are usually hydraulically powered. These tools are typically used to break up rock, pavement, and concrete. A jackhammer operates by driving an ''internal'' hammer up and down. The hammer is first driven down to strike the chisel and then back up to return the hammer to the original position to repeat the cycle. David Abram Laventhol (July 15, 1933 – April 8, 2015) was an American newspaper editor and publisher at ''The Washington Post'', '' Newsday'' and the ''Los Angeles Times''. He was known for his work designing newspapers, most notably as first editor of the ''Style'' section of ''The Washington Post''. Jenga is a game of physical skill created by British board game designer and author Leslie Scott and marketed by Hasbro. Players take turns removing one block at a time from a tower constructed of 54 blocks. Each block removed is then placed on top of the tower, creating a progressively more unstable structure. Rules Jenga is played with 54 wooden blocks. Each block is three times as long as it is wide, and one fifth as thick as its length – . Blocks have small, random variations from these dimensions so as to create imperfections in the stacking process and make the game more challenging.
