Alden Knipe
Alden Arthur Knipe (June 1870 – May 22, 1950) was an American football player and coach. He served as the sixth head football coach at the University of Iowa, serving from 1898 to 1902 and compiling a record of 30–11–4. Knipe was also the first head baseball coach at Iowa, coaching two seasons from 1900 to 1901 and tallying a mark 25–8. Knipe played college football at the University of Pennsylvania. After retiring from coaching, authored numerous books for children. Playing career Knipe was one of the great football players of the nineteenth century. He played at the University of Pennsylvania for the legendary George Washington Woodruff. In 1893, Knipe scored a touchdown for the Penn Quakers in a game against a Walter Camp-coached Yale team. Victor Humphry Knipe (born 1941) is a sociology and history author, and adult film writer, director, and website administrator. He is a co-author of ''The Dominant Man: The Pecking Order in Human Society'', a sociology book which has been translated into five languages, and the sole author of ''The Nero Prediction'', a historic novel about Emperor Nero and astrology, which won the 2006 Independent Publisher Book Award for "Best Historical Fiction." Alan Knipe (born January 1, 1969) is the head coach of the Long Beach State 49ers men's volleyball team and head coach of the 2012 Olympic Team United States men's national volleyball team. He played and coached at Long Beach State. As a player, he helped the team win the 1991 NCAA championship and an appearance in the 1990 NCAA Championships. and as a coach, he has guided them to seven final four appearances (2004, 2008, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022) and two national championships (2018, 2019). De Knipe
De Knipe (archaic: nl, De Knijpe) is a village in the municipality ( nl, Gemeente) Heerenveen in the province of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 1,455 in January 2017. History The village was first mentioned in 1622 as Nieubrongerga1. De Knipe means artificial narrowing of a stream, and refers to the sluice in the Schoterlandse Compagnonsvaart. Heerenveen
Heerenveen (, fry, It Hearrenfean ) is a town and municipality in the province of Friesland (Fryslân), in the Northern Netherlands. In 2021, the town had a population of 29,790 (1 January) while the municipality had a population 50,859 (1 July). History The town was established in 1551 by three lords as a location for the purpose of digging peat which was used for fuel, hence the name (''heer'' is "lord", ''veen'' is "peat").
