Sir Charles Knightley, 2nd Baronet
Sir Charles Knightley, 2nd Baronet (30 January 1781 – 30 August 1864) was a British people, British Conservative Party (UK), Conservative politician. Knightley was the son of Reverend Charles Knightley and Elizabeth née Boulton. In 1813, he married Selina Mary Hervey, daughter of Felton Lionel Hervey and Selina Mary née Elwill, and they had at least two children: Sophia Selina Knightley (died 1886), and Rainald Knightley, 1st Baron Knightley (1819–1895). Knightley was first elected Conservative MP for South Northamptonshire (UK Parliament constituency), South Northamptonshire at the 1835 United Kingdom general election, 1835 general election and held the seat until 1852, when he did not seek re-election. Richard Knightley
Sir Richard Knightley (1533 – 1 September 1615) of Fawsley Hall in Northamptonshire was an English Member of Parliament (MP) and leading patron of the Puritans during the reign of Elizabeth I. The Knightleys were one of the leading families of Northamptonshire. Biography Knightley was the eldest son of Valentine Knightley of Fawsley and his wife Anne (née Ferrers). He succeeded his father in 1566 and was knighted in 1565. He was MP for Northampton in the Parliaments of 1584 and 1586, and for Northamptonshire in those of 1589 and 1598. He also served as High Sheriff of Northamptonshire in 1568–1569 and 1581–1582. In 1587 he was commanded by Queen Elizabeth to be present at the execution of Mary, Queen of Scots (which took place in Northamptonshire). He was a conspicuous member of the Puritan faction in Parliament, and in November 1588 was involved in the printing of the Marprelate tracts. Valentine Knightley (died 1618)
Sir Valentine Knightley (c. 1555 – 9 December 1618) was an English landowner and Member of Parliament. He was the eldest son of Sir Richard Knightley of Fawsley Hall, Northamptonshire and educated at Hart Hall, Oxford (1568), where he was awarded MA in 1605 and trained for the law at Gray's Inn (1583). He was knighted on 11 May 1603 and succeeded his father in 1615. He was elected to Parliament as MP for Tavistock in both 1584 and 1586, for Northampton in 1593 and for Tavistock again in 1597. He was knight of the shire (MP) for Northamptonshire in 1604, having also been elected for Dunwich. The latter seat was taken instead by his friend Thomas Smythe. Steve Knightley (born 1954) is an English singer, songwriter and acoustic musician. Since 1992 he has been one half of folk/roots duo Show of Hands along with Phil Beer. Knightley was named "Songwriter of the Nineties" by BBC Radio 6 Music in 2012. Personal life Knightley was born in Southampton in 1954 of English, Irish and Scottish descent. Rainald Knightley, 1st Baron Knightley (22 October 1819 – 19 December 1895), known as Sir Rainald Knightley, 3rd Baronet, from 1864 to 1892, was a British Conservative Party politician.
