Klingenberg Am Main
Klingenberg am Main is a town in the Miltenberg district in the ''Regierungsbezirk'' of Lower Franconia (''Unterfranken'') in Bavaria, Germany. It has a population of around 6,200 and is located on both banks of the river Main. Geography Location The town lies right on the boundary with the state of Hesse on the Lower Main, and is made up of the old town of Klingenberg and the two villages of and that were amalgamated with the town in 1976. Lying on the Main’s right bank at the foot of the Spessart (range) are Klingenberg and Röllfeld, whereas Trennfurt is over on the left bank at the foot of the Odenwald (range). Klingenberg, Saxony
Klingenberg is a municipality in the Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge district, in Saxony, Germany. It was formed on 31 December 2012 by the merger of the former municipalities Pretzschendorf and Höckendorf. Geography The municipality is located 20 kilometers south-west of Dresden and 10 kilometers west of Dippoldiswalde. Klingenberg consists of 11 subdivisions: Beerwalde, Borlas, Colmnitz (including Folge), Friedersdorf, Höckendorf (including Edle Krone), Klingenberg, Obercunnersdorf, Paulshain, Pretzschendorf, Röthenbach and Ruppendorf. is a municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Østerdalen. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Elverum. Other settlements in the municipality include Heradsbygd, Sørskogbygda, and Neverlia. Elverum lies at an important crossroads, with the town of Hamar to the west, the town of Kongsvinger to the south, and village of Innbygda and the Swedish border to the northeast. Zvíkov Castle
Zvíkov (german: Klingenberg), often called "the king of Czech castles",Petr David, Vladimír Soukup, Lubomír Čech, Wonders of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia, pg. 138, Euromedia Group (2004), is a castle in Zvíkovské Podhradí municipality, about north of Písek in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. Alfred "Alf" Klingenberg (8 September 1867 - 20 April 1944), a Norwegian pianist and composer of great distinction, was the Eastman School of Music´s first director (1921–23). He was succeeded by composer Howard Hanson in 1924. Klingenberg started the DKG Institute of Musical Art in Rochester 1912. This school would later become the Eastman School of Music. George Eastman bought the school from Klingenberg in 1919. Klingenberg was a friend of Jean Sibelius, and secured the composer a position on the faculty during his directorship. Fritz Klingenberg
__NOTOC__ Fritz Paul Heinrich Otto Klingenberg (17 December 1912 – 23 March 1945) was a German officer in the Waffen-SS who served with the SS Division Das Reich and was a commander of the SS Division Götz von Berlichingen. He was best known for his role in the capture of the Yugoslavian capital, Belgrade, for which he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. In April 1941, the German Army invaded Yugoslavia and then Greece. Klingenberg, a company commander in the Das Reich division, led his unit to the capital, Belgrade, where a small group in the vanguard accepted the surrender of the city on 13 April. Johannes Benedictus Klingenberg
Johannes Benedictus Klingenberg (28 April 1817 – 8 July 1882) was a Norwegian military officer and engineer. He was a son of bailiff Johan Nicolai Klingenberg (1777–1865), and also the uncle of pianist Alf Klingenberg (1867-1944), and the maternal grandfather and paternal granduncle of Odd Sverressøn Klingenberg and Kaare Sverressøn Klingenberg. He worked in the country's capital Christiania. He organized the waterworks of the city in 1855, and had a national influence in this field. He became leader of the city fire department in 1861. In the military, he held the rank of major. From 1860 to 1861 and 1872 to 1874 he was the chairman of the Norwegian Polytechnic Society.
