Klin, Klinsky District, Moscow Oblast
Klin (russian: Клин, lit. ''a wedge'') is a town and the administrative center of Klinsky District in Moscow Oblast, Russia, located northwest of Moscow. Population: 94,000 (1985 est.). History It has been known since 1317. In 1482, it was incorporated into the Grand Duchy of Moscow with the rest of the Principality of Tver. Town status was granted in 1781. Klin was taken by the Germans briefly during the Battle of Moscow in 1941. The German occupation lasted from November 23 to December 15, 1941. A short time later, on December 19, the British Foreign Secretary Anthony Eden and the Soviet ambassador to Great Britain Ivan Maysky visited the town with more than twenty correspondents during Eden's first diplomatic mission to Moscow. Klin (mountain)
Klin (sk. ''Klin'', pl. ''Starorobociański Wierch'') is a peak in the Western Tatras, on the border between Slovakia and Poland. Its summit is at 2,176 m AMSL. It is the highest peak in Polish Western Tatras. The foreground is a classic split ridge or doppelgrat, spreading under tension due to deep erosion in the valleys either side. Ami Klin is an American psychologist who studies autism. He is the first chief of autism and related disorders at the Marcus Autism Center, a wholly owned subsidiary of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Klin will also be a Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar at Emory University and director of the Division of Autism and Related Developmental Disabilities in the Department of Pediatrics at the Emory University School of Medicine. Background and education Previously, he was an autism and Asperger syndrome researcher and a Harris Professor of Child Psychology and Psychiatry at the Yale Child Study Center. Klin has worked at the Center since 1989. He obtained BA degrees in Psychology, and Political Science and History, from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel in 1983 and his PhD in Psychology at University College London in 1988 under the co-supervision of Uta Frith. Klin is an air base in Russia located 4 km north of Klin. It is halfway between Moscow and Tver, with many military transport types (Il-76, An-12, An-26, Tu-134, etc.) in service. The airfield was active until the 1990s. Many aircraft remains are still stored on the airfield. The PP-91 KEDR is a 9×18mm Makarov, 9mm machine pistol developed from a prototype from the 1970s and since 1994 adopted by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. Overview The PP-91 is a simply designed, easy to manufacture selective fire submachine gun designed by Yevgeny Dragunov (the designer of the SVD sniper rifle). It is blowback (firearms), blowback operated and fires from a closed bolt, allowing for more accurate shooting than would be possible from an open bolt design. Ammunition is fed from a double column box magazine and it is supplied with folding shoulder stock. Constructed from stamped sheet steel, it weighs in near 1.57 kg. The safety/selector lever is located on the right hand side and allows for semi-automatic single shots and fully automatic fire at the rate of 800 rounds per minute. Klina ( sq-definite, Klinë; Serbian Cyrillic: ) is a town and municipality located in the District of Peja of north-western Kosovo.
