Klese Haas (born 2 March 2002) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who plays as a forward for the Gold Coast Titans in the NRL. Background Haas's brother Payne Haas, plays for the Brisbane Broncos. He's the nephew of former Newcastle forward Mark Taufua. Haas moved to Gold Coast, Queensland, at 10 years old meaning he's eligible for both Queensland and New South Wales who his brother Payne has played for. The Queensland rugby league team represents the Australian state of Queensland in rugby league football. Nicknamed the "Maroons" after the colour of their jersey, they play three times a year against arch-rivals New South Wales rugby league team, New South Wales in the State of Origin series. The 2022 NRL season is the 115th season of professional rugby league in Australia and the 25th season run by the National Rugby League. Teams The lineup of teams remained unchanged for the 16th consecutive year. This became the second longest stretch of time (after 1947-1966 - 20 seasons) of a continuous line-up of teams in competition history (overtaking 1967-1981 - 15 seasons). Pre-season Pre-season matches were played between 12 February and 28 February 2022, before a 10-day lead up until the beginning of the regular season. It featured nineteen matches across three weekends, including the 2022 All Stars match, which was won by the Māori All Stars 16 – 10, and the annual Charity Shield match between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and St George Illawarra Dragons, which the Dragons won 16–10. Mark Larry Taufua, also known by the nicknames of "Fu", or "Taff", is a Samoan former rugby league footballer who played as a and . He played for the Newcastle Knights and the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks in the NRL. Background He was born in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia and is of Samoan descent.
