Kleiner Tiergarten
Kleiner Tiergarten ("Small Tiergarten") is a park in Moabit, Berlin, Germany. Location The park is located in Moabit, a division of Mitte, the central borough of Berlin. It is bounded to the north by ''Turmstraße'', ''Alt-Moabit'' to the south, ''Ottostraße'' to the west, and ''Wilsnacker Straße'' to the east. ''Stromstraße'' and ''Thusnelda-Allee'' pass through the park from north to south, as does line U9 of the Berlin U-Bahn; the subway station Turmstraße is also located adjacent from the park. History The park was once part of a much larger communally administered forest area Jungfernheide. Frederick William, Elector of Brandenburg annexed it as a counterpart to the much larger Großer Tiergarten as the city of Berlin grew and usurped the former hunting grounds. Since 1655, the park has been referred to as the Kleiner Tiergarten. In the year 1790, the park was replanted; further redesign took place in 1835 in connection with the newly built designed by Karl Fried ...

Urban Park
An urban park or metropolitan park, also known as a municipal park (North America) or a public park, public open space, or municipal gardens ( UK), is a park in cities and other incorporated places that offer recreation and green space to residents of, and visitors to, the municipality. The design, operation, and maintenance is usually done by government agencies, typically on the local level, but may occasionally be contracted out to a park conservancy, "friends of" group, or private sector company. Common features of municipal parks include playgrounds, gardens, hiking, running and fitness trails or paths, bridle paths, sports fields and courts, public restrooms, boat ramps, and/or picnic facilities, depending on the budget and natural features available. Park advocates claim that having parks near urban residents, including within a 10-minute walk, provide multiple benefits. History A park is an area of open space provided for recreational use, usually owned and maintain ...

At that time, the architectural taste in Prussia was shaped in neoclassical style, mainly by Carl Gotthard Langhans, the architect of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. After returning to Berlin from his first trip to Italy in 1805, he started to earn his living as a painter. When he saw Caspar David Friedrich's painting ''Wanderer above the Sea of Fog'' at the 1810 Berlin art ...

Silencer (firearms)
A silencer, also known as a sound suppressor, suppressor, or sound moderator, is a Gun barrel#Muzzle, muzzle device that reduces the Sound intensity, acoustic intensity of the muzzle report (sound of a gunshot) and muzzle rise when a gun (firearm or air gun) is discharged, by modulating the speed and pressure of the propellant gas from the muzzle and hence suppressing the muzzle blast. Like other muzzle devices, a silencer can be a detachable accessory mounted to the muzzle, or an integral part of the gun barrel, barrel. A typical silencer is a metallic (usually stainless steel or titanium) cylinder containing internal sound baffles, with a hollow bore to allow the projectile (bullet) to exit normally. During firing, the bullet flies through the bore with little hindrance, but most of the expanding gas ejecta behind it is retained through a longer and convoluted escape path created by the baffles, prolonging the release time. This slows down the gas and dissipates its kinet ...

Moabit
Moabit () is an inner city locality in the borough of Mitte, Berlin, Germany. As of 2016, around 77,000 people lived in Moabit. First inhabited in 1685 and incorporated into Berlin in 1861, the former industrial and working-class neighbourhood is fully surrounded by three watercourses, which define its present-day border. Until the administrative reform in 2001, Moabit was a part of the district of Tiergarten. Colloquially, the name ''Moabit'' also refers to the Central Criminal Court (''Strafgericht'') and detention centre, which deals with all criminal cases in Berlin and is based in Moabit. Name The origin of the name ''Moabit'' is disputed. According to one account, it can be traced back to the Huguenots, in the time of King Frederick William I of Prussia.
