Kleberg County Airport is a county-owned, public-use airport located nine nautical miles (10 miles; 17 km) west of the central business district of Kingsville, a city in Kleberg County, Texas, United States. This airport is included in the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a ''general aviation'' facility. Although many U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this facility is assigned IKG by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA. Kleberg County, Texas
Kleberg County is a county in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 31,040. The county seat is Kingsville. The county was organized in 1913 and is named for Robert J. Kleberg, an early settler. Kleberg County is part of the Kingsville, TX Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also part of the Corpus Christi- Kingsville- Alice, TX Combined Statistical Area. Most of the county's land lies in the famed King Ranch, which also extends into neighboring counties. History The county was organized in 1913 and was named for Robert J. Kleberg, an early settler (see below). In 1997, the county commissioners officially designated "heaven-o" as the county's greeting. The stated reason was that "hello" contains the word "hell".
