''Klamath'' is an album by the American Music Club singer/songwriter Mark Eitzel. Released by Decor in 2009, it was his first solo album since '' Candy Ass'', in 2005. All of the songs were written by Eitzel. Eitzel himself printed and manufactured the album; friends mailed the copies. Mark Eitzel
Mark Eitzel (born January 30, 1959) is an American musician, best known as a songwriter and lead singer of the San Francisco band American Music Club. Biography Eitzel spent his formative years in a military family living in Okinawa, Taiwan, Ohio and the United Kingdom. He moved to America in 1979, and came out as gay in 1985. He started making music while he was a teenager in Southampton, England. His first band was a punk band called the Cowboys when he moved to Columbus, Ohio, at 19. They released one single in 1980. His second band was called The Naked Skinnies and they released one single in 1981. He moved to San Francisco with The Naked Skinnies in 1981 where they disbanded in 1982. Eitzel formed American Music Club (AMC) in San Francisco in 1982. The band performed and created albums for twelve years. ''Candy Ass'' is the eighth studio album by American singer-songwriter and lead vocalist of American Music Club, Mark Eitzel. It was released on October 3, 2005, by Cooking Vinyl. Critical reception ''Candy Ass'' was met with "mixed or average" reviews from critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, this release received an average score of 51 based on 11 reviews. In a review for AllMusic, Mark Deming said: "''Candy Ass'' largely finds Eitzel exploring his interest in electronic music, with most of it apparently recorded by the artist all by his lonesome. While ''The Invisible Man'' found Eitzel finding a warmth and humanity deep in his masses of loops and samples, ''Candy Ass'' sounds considerably colder and less inviting, and the several instrumental cuts on the album are a severe miscalculation." American Music Club was an American, San Francisco-based indie rock band, led by singer-songwriter Mark Eitzel. Formed in 1983, the band released seven albums before splitting up in 1995. They reformed in 2003 and released two further albums. ''The Independent'' is a British online newspaper. It was established in 1986 as a national morning printed paper.
