Kiveton Park Football Club is a association football, football club based in Kiveton Park, South Yorkshire, England. They are currently members of the and play at Wales High School. History Although a team representing the village played two games with a side from Anston during the 1877–78 season, Kiveton Park FC was not formed until 1881. Two years later, the club affiliated with the Sheffield Football Association. Its first club colours were believed to be red and black quarters. In 1891–92 they were founder members of the Sheffield & District Football League (being Chesterfield F.C.'s first ever league opponents on the first day of that season) and lifted their first trophy after beating Sheepbridge in the final of the Sheffield & Hallamshire Minor Cup, Sheffield Minor Cup. Wales High School
Wales High School is an academy school for 11- to 19-year-olds, in Kiveton, near Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. Opened in 1970, the school provides education for nearby villages, including Kiveton Park, Harthill, Todwick, Wales, Thurcroft and South Anston. The school is situated in Kiveton Park, not in the small neighbouring village of Wales less than a mile away. The school is a specialist school in Business and Enterprise. The Sheffield & Hallamshire Association Cup is a county cup competition involving teams within the Sheffield & Hallamshire County Football Association (S&HCFA). Inaugurated in 2003, it is generally open to S&HCFA teams at levels 12-14 of the English football league system, although reserves teams at level 11 also compete. Kiveton Park Colliery
Kiveton Park Colliery was a coal mine in the village of Kiveton Park, near Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. History Until 1845, Kiveton was a rural village, where the main work was in agriculture. In that year, a railway line was built through the district, which connected Sheffield with Worksop, Retford, and Grimsby. This line became part of the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway. It provided a significant freight transport connection. Within 20 years of the railway's opening, coal was being mined at many locations along the line and transported and sold to merchants in the Manchester area and in the port of Grimsby. In 1864, Carrington and Company leased rights to mine coal in the area around Kiveton. Sinking began on 6 June 1866 and the Barnsley seam was reached on 5 December 1867, just over below the surface. The Northern Counties East Football League is a semi-professional English football league. It has two divisions – Premier Division and Division One – which stand at the ninth and tenth levels of the football pyramid respectively. Midland Football League (1889)
The Midland Football League was a semi-professional football league in England. It acted as a feeder league to the Football League for many years before merging with the Yorkshire League in 1982 to form the Northern Counties East League. The Football Association Challenge Vase, usually referred to as the FA Vase, is an annual football competition for teams playing in Steps 5 and 6 of the English National League System (or equivalently, tier 9 or 10 of the overall English football league system). For the 2017–18 season 619 entrants were accepted, with two qualifying rounds preceding the six proper rounds, semi-finals (played over two legs) and final to be played at Wembley Stadium.
