Kittyhawk (band)
Kittyhawk is an American emo band from Chicago, Illinois. The band has currently released one full-length album, one extended play, and four splits. The band broke up in 2016, but announced they were reunited and back in action in October 2019. History Kittyhawk began in 2011. The following year it released its debut self-titled EP via Skeletal Lightning, and Storm Chaser Records, a record label owned by Evan Weiss (Into It. Over It.). In 2013, the band released a 7" split EP with Cherry Cola Champions via Flannel Gurl Records. In early 2014, the band released a split with Prawn, Droughts, and Frameworks. Later in 2014, the band was featured on a four way split from The Fest titled Sundae Bloody Sundae with The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die, Two Knights and Rozwell Kid via Skeletal Lightning. Indie Pop
Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music. It originated from British post-punk in the late 1970s and subsequently generated a thriving fanzine, Independent record label, label, and club and gig circuit. Compared to its counterpart, indie rock, the genre is more melodic, less abrasive, and relatively angst-free. The Fest
The Fest is an annual music festival in Gainesville, Florida, United States, organized by Tony Weinbender, formerly of No Idea Records. It is a predominantly punk rock and pop-punk festival, though there are also a good number of indie rock, hardcore punk, metal, and ska acts. The Fest takes place each year on the weekend of the Florida–Georgia football game (around Halloween) held in Jacksonville. History The Fest first took place May 24 and 25, 2002, and has since attracted a large turnout throughout the years. Bands perform across a variety of venues (varying from small bars to large concert halls) in the downtown Gainesville area. Have Mercy is an American rock band from Baltimore, Maryland and are signed to RUDE RECORDS. History Have Mercy began in late 2009 after drummer Aaron Alt and guitarist Joey McCusker decided to disembark from their previous band. Looking for something different, following their formative years in the metal scene, they contacted long time friend Brian Swindle to head the group. Since then, they have released three albums, two EPs, and two splits. Their debut album, titled ''The Earth Pushed Back'', was released in 2013 via Topshelf Records. Dikembe is an American rock band from Gainesville, Florida. History Dikembe formed in December 2010. In 2011, the band embarked on a winter tour with You Blew It!. In 2012, they signed to Tiny Engines and released their debut studio album titled ''Broad Shoulders''. Kenny Jewett left the band in 2013 and was replaced with Randy Reddell. The band went on a summer tour in 2013 with Signals Midwest. They released their second studio album in 2014, titled ''Mediumship''. You Blew It! was an American emo quintet based in Orlando, Florida. The band was formed in 2009 by Tanner Jones, Timothy Flynn, and Matt Messore. History In 2012, the band released their debut LP, ''Grow Up, Dude'' under Topshelf Records. Prior to their LP, the band released two EPs: ''EP'' in 2009 and ''The Past in the Present'' in 2010.
