Kitty Green
Kitty Green is an Australian film director, editor, producer, and screenwriter. The majority of her projects have been documentaries, while only one has been a narrative driven story. Her work often portrays heavy topics such as unsolved murders and politics. Early life and education Kitty Green attended the Victorian College of the Arts, where she studied film and television. While attending the Victorian College of the Arts, Green made a short film entitled ''Spilt'' that was premiered at the Brisbane International Film Festival and screened at festivals internationally, earning a few awards in the process. 70th Berlin International Film Festival
The 70th annual Berlin International Film Festival took place from 20 February to 1 March 2020. It was the first under the leadership of new Berlin Film Festival heads, business administration director Mariette Rissenbeek and artistic director Carlo Chatrian. The festival opened with the opening gala presented by actor Samuel Finzi followed by the world premiere of the film ''My Salinger Year'' which was selected for the Berlinale Special section. ''Ukraine Is Not a Brothel'' is a 2013 Australian documentary film directed by Kitty Green. The film debuted at the 70th Venice International Film Festival, although it was not part of the competition. The documentary concerns the FEMEN (Фемен) movement, a feminist protest group originating from Ukraine. Content The film is a documentary on the activities of FEMEN, a Ukrainian feminist movement known for topless protests. The filmmaker Kitty Green followed the activists for over a year, in Ukraine, Belarus and Turkey. It documents the protests and the resulting harassments and arrests over a span of fourteen months. The film showcases the four activists who form the core of the film. The documentary shows Viktor Sviatsky as a driving force of the group FEMEN. The Independent Spirit Awards (abbreviated Spirit Awards and originally known as the FINDIE or Friends of Independents Awards), founded in 1984, are awards dedicated to independent filmmakers. Winners were typically presented with Poly(methyl methacrylate), acrylic glass pyramids containing suspended shoestrings representing the bare budgets of independent films. The Berlin International Film Festival (german: Internationale Filmfestspiele Berlin), usually called the Berlinale (), is a major international film festival held annually in Berlin, Germany.
