''Kiss and Tell'' is a 1943 Broadway play by F. Hugh Herbert. ''Kiss and Tell'' starred Joan Caulfield as Corliss Archer and Judith Parrish as her friend Mildred Pringle. The play's great success led to offers from Hollywood for Caulfield, who left the production almost one year to the day from when it opened, and was replaced in her role by her sister Betty Caulfield. Production ''Kiss and Tell'' premiered at the Wilbur Theatre in Boston on March 1, 1943 for tryout performances before its Broadway run. It opened in New York City on March 17, 1943 at the Biltmore Theatre. It remained there until the end of 1944, before transferring to the Bijou Theatre in 1945. Robert Keith (born Rolland Keith Richey, February 10, 1898– December 22, 1966) was an American stage and film actor who appeared in several dozen films, mostly in the 1950s as a character actor. ''A Kiss for Corliss'' (retitled ''Almost a Bride'' before its release) is a 1949 American comedy film directed by Richard Wallace, written by Howard Dimsdale and starring David Niven and Shirley Temple. Richard Wallace (director)
Richard Wallace (August 26, 1894 – November 3, 1951) was an American film director. He began working in the editing department at Mack Sennett Studios in the early 1920s. He later moved on to rival Hal Roach Studios where he began directing two-reel films, on some of which he collaborated with Stan Laurel. In 1926, Wallace began directing feature-length films. Several of Wallace's memorable films include three Shirley Temple films, ''A Night to Remember (1943 film), A Night to Remember'' (1943) with Loretta Young, and ''The Little Minister (1934 film), The Little Minister'' (1934) with Katharine Hepburn.
