Kishwaukee College
Kishwaukee College is a public community college in Malta, Illinois. It is part of the Illinois Community College System and serves District 523, which encompasses most of DeKalb County, and parts of Lee, Ogle and La Salle counties. History The college was founded in 1968. Dr. W. Lamar Fly was selected as the college's first president as work began to construct the initial buildings on campus. Over the next several decades, the college continued to grow and adapt to the changing needs of the community, by adding sports facilities, a greenhouse, the Early Childhood Education Center, new science and health technologies, a therapeutic massage clinic, and more. In 2011, voters approved a referendum to expand Kish's campus by updating the current facilities, constructing a new student center and adding parking.
