Kirsti Huke
Kirsti Huke (born March 6, 1977 in Melhus, Norway) is a Norwegian singer, and composer. Huke was best recognized as the lead singer for Norwegian doom metal/experimental band The 3rd and the Mortal in the final line-up. She is also known from collaborations with musicians such as Egil Kapstad, Erlend Skomsvoll, Tore Brunborg, Ola Kvernberg, Vigleik Storaas, Håvard Wiik, Håkon Mjåset Johansen, Erik Nylander and Steinar Raknes. She is the younger sister of the author Marte Huke. Career Huke was educated at the Heimdal Upper Secondary School between 1993 and 1996, and pursued the Jazz program at Norwegian University of Science and Technology from 1996 to 2001; in 2016, she was employed there as an assistant professor. Her own Kirsti Huke Quartet (established in 1998) also included Håvard Wiik (piano), Håkon Mjåset Johansen (drums) and Steinar Raknes (bass). Melhus is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is part of the Gauldalen region. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Melhus. Siri Gjære (born 1 February 1972 in Trondheim, Norway) is a Norwegian jazz vocalist from Levanger, known for her collaborations with musicians like Tord Gustavsen, Stian Carstensen, Eirik Hegdal, Maria Kannegaard, Jarle Bernhoft, Eldbjørg Raknes, and Steinar Raknes. Career Gjære was educated at the jazz program at Trondheim Musikkonservatorium (1995–1997), where she performed with Trondheim Jazz Orchestra (e.g. ''We Are?'' 2005, with Eirik Hegdal). Per Borten (musician)
(3 April 1913 – 20 January 2005) was a Norwegian politician from the Centre Party and the 25th prime minister of Norway from 1965 to 1971. Per Borten is credited for leading the modernization of what was then named Bondepartiet (the Agrarian Party) into today's Centre Party. He was an active opponent of Norway joining the European Union. Early life Borten was born in Flå in the municipality of Melhus in Sør-Trøndelag, and was educated Agriculturist from the Norwegian College of Agriculture in 1939. Wetle Holte (born 4 September 1973) is a Norwegian drummer and composer known for his collaborations with Silje Neergård, Kirsti Huke, Eivind Aarset, Wibutee, Bugge Wesseltoft, Anja Garbarek, and others. Life and career Holte was born in Skien and is a graduate from the jazz programme at Trondheim Musikkonservatorium, where in 1996, he co-founded the jazz trio Triangle—later to become Wibutee—with Håkon Kornstad and Per Zanussi. Trondheim Voices
Trondheim Voices (established 2001 in Trondheim, Norway) is a Norwegian vocal group, best known for their improvised performances in the jazz genre. Biography Trondheim Voices started out as a Christmas Concert, initiated by Midtnorsk Jazzsenter (MNJ) in 2001, and subsequently developed into a permanent group with a consistent vocal ensemble and a specially made repertoire. The state supported ensemble has had up to fifteen singers. Today the ensemble counts eight to nine singers, and both crew and artistic directors vary from project to project.
