Kirsten Miller
Kirsten Miller (born 1973) is an American novelist and the creator of the Kiki Strike book series. Her first book in the series, ''Kiki Strike: Inside the Shadow City'', came out in 2006. Her second book in the series, '' The Empress's Tomb'', came out in October 2007. The series chronicles the adventures of Kiki Strike, Ananka Fishbein and their friends in New York City. In 2001, the front lawn of a Manhattan nursing home collapsed to reveal an underground room, giving Kirsten the idea for the first book, set in the tunnels and rooms beneath the city. She created Kiki Strike and the Irregulars (named after Sherlock Holmes' Baker Street Irregulars) to explore these secret passageways. The first book in her other series, ''The Eternal Ones'', was released August 10, 2010. She was the co-author of a three-book children's series with Jason Segel named '' Nightmares!'', of which the first book was released in the fall of 2014. ''The Empress's Tomb'' (2007) is a young adult novel by Kirsten Miller, the second in the Kiki Strike The Kiki Strike series, by Kirsten Miller, is a series of three novels revolving around the adventures of six girls in Manhattan, and currently consists of three books ('' Inside the Shadow City'', '' The Empress's Tomb'' and '' The Darkness Dwe ... series. Plot The preface tells the tale of an empress betrayed by a traitor. It reveals that the runaway princess was not really a traitor and that her loyal servant had hidden the truth inside her coffin. As the story begins, Ananka is having breakfast with her mother when she reads a newspaper headline: "Is This the Work of Kiki Strike?" The article states that someone has let wild animals loose, all with the sign, "I want to go home." Ananka's mom suspects that Kiki is involved and grills Ananka about her grades. The Baker Street Irregulars are fictional characters who appear in three Sherlock Holmes stories, specifically two novels and one short story, by Arthur Conan Doyle. They are street boys who are employed by Holmes as intelligence agents.
