Kirsten Frisch
Kirsten Frisch (born August 4, 1984) is an American former ice dancer. With Brent Bommentre, she represented the United States at the 2003 World Junior Championships. Frisch is a four-time National medalist at the Novice and Junior level in 2000, 2002, 2003, and 2004. Career Frisch began skating at age seven. She teamed up with Brent Bommentre around 1998. Frisch/Bommentre began competing on the ISU Junior Grand Prix series in 2000. In 2003, they won the junior silver medal at the U.S. Championships and were assigned to the 2003 World Junior Championships in Ostrava, Czech Republic, where they placed 12th. The duo was coached by Robert Kaine and Cheryl Demkowski-Snyder. They parted ways at the end of the season. Frisch teamed up with Augie Hill in the summer of 2003. Randolph is a township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States census, the township's population was 25,734, reflecting an increase of 887 (+3.6%) from the 24,847 counted in the 2000 census, which had in turn increased by 4,873 (+24.4%) from the 19,974 counted in the 1990 census. The ISU Junior Grand Prix in Poland is an international figure skating competition. Sanctioned by the International Skating Union, it is held in the autumn in some years as part of the JGP series. "The Blue Danube" is the common English title of "An der schönen blauen Donau", Op. 314 (German for "By the Beautiful Blue Danube"), a waltz by the Austrian composer Johann Strauss II, composed in 1866. Originally performed on 15 February 1867 at a concert of the Wiener Männergesang-Verein (Vienna Men's Choral Association), it has been one of the most consistently popular pieces of music in the classical repertoire. Its initial performance was considered only a mild success, however, and Strauss is reputed to have said, "The devil take the waltz, my only regret is for the coda—I wish that had been a success!" After the original music was written, the words were added by the Choral Association's poet, Joseph Weyl. Strauss later added more music, and Weyl needed to change some of the words. Radetzky March
"Radetzky March", Op. 228, is a march composed by Johann Strauss Sr. and dedicated to Field Marshal Joseph Radetzky von Radetz. First performed on 31 August 1848 in Vienna, it soon became popular among regimented marching soldiers. It has been noted that its tone is more celebratory than martial; Strauss was commissioned to write the piece to commemorate Radetzky's victory at the Battle of Custoza. Origin Strauss had already used the theme in his ''Jubel-Quadrille'', Op. 130; the upbeat bears a considerable resemblance to the second theme from the Allegro in Joseph Haydn's Symphony No. 100 composed in 1794. The free dance (FD) is a segment of an ice dance competition, the second contested. It follows the rhythm dance (RD). Original Dance
The original dance (OD) was one of the programs performed by figure skaters in ice dance competitions, in which the ice dancers skated "a dance of their own creation to dance music they have selected for the designated rhythm(s)".Rulebook, p. 90 It was normally the second of three programs in the competition, sandwiched between the compulsory dance (CD) and the free dance (FD). The rhythm(s) and type of music required for the OD changed every season, and were selected by the International Skating Union (ISU) before the start of the season. The ice dancers were free to choose their own music and choreography (within the specified constraints) and to create their own routines.
