Kirkton Of Auchterhouse
Auchterhouse is a village, community, and civil parish in the Scottish council area of Angus, located north west of Dundee, south east of Alyth and south west of Forfar. It lies on the southern edge of the Sidlaw Hills, below Auchterhouse Hill, high. The parish, which is coterminous with the community, had a population of 520 in 2001. The village, formerly known as ''Milltown of Auchterhouse'', straddles the B954 Muirhead to Newtyle road. Dundee City West (Gaelic: ''Baile Dhùn Dè an Iar'') is a constituency of the Scottish Parliament ( Holyrood) covering part of the council area of Dundee City. It elects one Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) by the first past the post method of election. Downfield is a residential area located in the north of Dundee, Scotland, centred on the stretch of the Strathmartine Road between the Kingsway and the northern boundary of Dundee. Baldragon Academy
Baldragon Academy is a six-year comprehensive in the Kirkton area of the city of Dundee, Scotland. It was originally named Kirkton High School until merging with Rockwell High School in August 1997. The school is set in over of its own grounds. The school has around 1000 pupils and serves the Kirkton, Trottick, St Mary's and Ardler areas of Dundee. This area consists of a mixture of authority and privately owned housing. The feeder primary schools are Sidlaw View, Downfield, Craigowl, Ardler and Strathmartine Primary Schools. 2022 Kirkton Riot
The 2022 Kirkton riot took place in the area of Kirkton in Dundee, Scotland on 31 October 2022. The civil unrest occurred on several streets in the area during Halloween and was caused by a significantly large group of youths. The riot The riot broke out at 17:30 GMT in Beauly Square following anti-social behaviour. Speculation arose that the riot broke out following a remembrance event for Grant Hutchison, a man who lived in Kirkton who had died in 2020. Beauly Square It was reported that vehicles and bins were torched on Beauly Square as the riot began to roll out. Other items such as bikes were also torched as rioters stole items from houses in the area. Police and emergency services began to arrive on the scene shortly afterwards.
