Kirk McCarty
Kirkland McCarty (born October 12, 1995) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the SSG Landers of the KBO League. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cleveland Guardians. High school and college McCarty went to Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where he played baseball. He was an effective hitter and pitcher in high school, as he hit to a .364 batting average and pitched to a 25–3 record in his high school career. He committed to Southern Miss to play college baseball before the 2015 college baseball season. McCarty worked as both a starter and reliever as a freshman, compiling a 4–1 record and a 4.09 earned run average. Starting with his sophomore season, he played with future Guardians teammate Nick Sandlin. McCarty recorded an 8–1 record and a 3.16 ERA, while leading the Southern Miss team in strikeouts with 89. Nick Sandlin
Nick Howard Sandlin (born January 10, 1997) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2021. Amateur career Sandlin - a sidearm style pitcher - attended Greenbrier High School in Evans, Georgia. He enrolled at the University of Southern Mississippi and played college baseball for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. In 2017, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Triple-A (officially Class AAA) has been the highest level of play in Minor League Baseball in the United States since 1946. Currently, two sports league, leagues operate at the Triple-A level, the International League (IL) and the Pacific Coast League (PCL). The Arizona Fall League (AFL) is an off-season sports league owned and operated by Major League Baseball (MLB) which operates during the autumn in Arizona, United States, at six different baseball complexes. The Lynchburg Hillcats are a Minor League Baseball team in Lynchburg, Virginia that plays in the Carolina League and is the Single-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians. The Lake County Captains are a Minor League Baseball team in Eastlake, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, that plays in the Midwest League as the High-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians. The 2017 Major League Baseball (MLB) First-Year Player Draft began on June 12, 2017. The draft assigned amateur baseball players to MLB teams. The first 36 picks, including the first round and compensatory picks, were broadcast on MLB Network on June 12, while the remainder of the draft was live streamed on MLB.com on June 13 and 14.
