Kiril Živković
Kiril Živković also spelled Kiril Zhivkovich ( bg, Кирил Живкович, sr-cyr, Кирил Живковић; Pirot, Ottoman Empire, 1730 – Pakrac, Habsburg Empire, 1807) was a writer and Orthodox bishop. Biography Živković was a Bulgarian-born writer and Serbian Orthodox bishop. According to himself, he was born "''in the city of Pirot, in Bulgarian lands, in the year 1730''". Pirot at the time was part of the Sanjak of Niš of the Ottoman Empire (now in Serbia). As a seven-year-old, he fled with his parents to the village of Futog in Bačka in the Habsburg Empire (now in Serbia), where he was ordained as the priest of the Serbian Patriarchate of Peć. At that time the Patriarchate of Peć had in fact no pure ethnic nature, and included not only Serbs, but also Bulgarians. Afterwards Zhivkovich became a monk at the Bulgarian Orthodox Zograf Monastery on Mount Athos (now in Greece). He travelled and studied throughout the Balkans, Austria, Russia, and Italy. In 1778 ... Arsenije Teodorović
Arsenije Teodorović ( sr, Арсен Теодоровић, Perlez, Habsburg monarchy, 1767 – Novi Sad, Habsburg Monarchy, 13 February 1826) was a Serbian painter from the Banat region of Vojvodina who is widely considered one of Serbia's foremost portraitists. His best known work is the portrait of Dositej Obradović, the father of modern Serbian literature. Shortly before he died, Teodorović bequeathed more than 1,000 paintings to the founder of the Arts and Crafts School of the Metropolitanate of Karlovci, Stefan Stratimirović. Career He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna from 1788 until 1796, and then lived in Timișoara and Novi Sad. He was engaged in portrait painting and painting icons for the sanctuary screens (iconostasis), and he also painted some historical compositions as well. Viktor Čolakov
Viktor Čolakov (secular name: Vŭlko Cholakov; 1797 - 31 May 1888) was the last Metropolitan of Niš of the Bulgarian Exarchate (1872—1878), and the first bishop of Niš of the Serbian Orthodox Church after the Serbian-Turkish Wars (1876-1878). Biography He was born in the town Kalofer in 1797, then part known as Rumelia, a part of the Ottoman Empire, now Bulgaria. He received his primary education in his hometown. Subsequently, he entered the Kalofer Monastery as a novice. Viktor Čolakov became a monk in the Serbian monastery of Hilandar and from there he was appointed in 1835 as a representative of the Hilandar metoh in Niš. He previously became an archimandrite in Hilandar, one of the most willing monks. in the monastery convent he collected donations.
