Kinsale RFC
Kinsale RFC is a rugby union team located in the town of Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland - approximately 18 miles from Cork City. Founded in 1982, the club's 1st team competes in Division 2 of the Munster Junior League. Kinsale also fields various other teams including Ladies, Veterans, and have underage teams from U-8 up to U-18. Kinsale RFC is also home to Europe's largest Rugby Sevens event, The Heineken Kinsale Sevens, which is held at its Snugmore grounds every May. Cork (city)
Cork ( , from , meaning 'marsh') is the second largest city in Ireland and third largest city by population on the island of Ireland. Kinsale ( ; ) is a historic port and fishing town in County Cork, Ireland. Munster ( gle, an Mhumhain or ) is one of the provinces of Ireland, in the south of Ireland. Women's international rugby union has a history going back to the late 19th century, but it was not until 1982 that the first international fixture (or "test match") involving women's rugby union took place. The match was organised in connection with the Dutch Rugby Union's 50th anniversary: as part of the celebrations, on June 13, 1982, the French national women's team played the Dutch in Utrecht, Netherlands, with France winning 4–0 in a game that has since been recognised as the first ever women's international rugby union match. Kinsale Sevens
The Kinsale Sevens (also known as Heineken Kinsale Sevens, Kinsale Sevens By The Sea) is Ireland and Europe's premier seven-a-side club rugby event. The event takes place across the May Bank Holiday Weekend (Friday to Sunday) at the Kinsale Rugby Football Club, Kinsale, Ireland and sees teams from around the world compete against each other in ladies', men's (junior and senior) and veteran competitions. Format Participants find themselves battling it out over a two-day period (Saturday and Sunday - traditionally, the Friday is dedicated to a fun 10-a-side competition) with the finals of the feature events taking place on the Sunday. Darragh Hurley
Darragh Hurley (8 October 1985) is a retired Irish rugby union player, who played for Irish provincial side Munster in the Pro12 and Heineken Cup. Hurley played his club rugby with Cork Constitution in the All-Ireland League. His position was prop, usually loosehead. Early life Hurley began playing rugby union with his local rugby club Kinsale RFC at the age of 8. Hurley then made the move to Christian Brothers College Cork where he played Senior Cup rugby and was victorious in 2003. When Hurley left school he joined UCC where he remained for two years. Munster He then went on to join Munster as an academy player. Hurley made his senior debut for Munster in a Celtic League fixture against Border Reivers on 9 September 2006, playing the full 80 minutes. He made his Heineken Cup debut for Munster against Cardiff Blues on 10 December 2006.
