Kings Square, Perth
Perth City Link is an urban renewal and redevelopment project in Perth, Western Australia. The projectbounded by the Mitchell Freeway, Wellington Street, the Horseshoe Bridge and Roe Street is on land that was once the Perth/City railway yard and dedicated railway property west of Perth railway station. The land was used by the railways and reserved for their use, from the 1880s until the late 1990s. At the time of early proposals, much of the space was no longer required by the railway. The foundation project, involved sinking a small section of the Fremantle railway line, between the City and Northbridge and demolishing the old Wellington Street Bus Station. Underground rail, refurbishment and extension of Perth station and a new bus station, is allowing for redevelopment of the of surface land that has been reclaimed. Milligan Street, Perth
Milligan Street is a street in Perth, Western Australia that runs from St Georges Terrace to north of Wellington Street. The northern section provides access to the Perth Arena carpark and Telethon Avenue; there are also dedicated Transperth bus roads connecting to the northern end, south of the Fremantle railway line. A small side-street of the same name branches off Milligan Street (on the east side) between Murray and Wellington Streets, and forms a second intersection with Wellington Street. The Perth Entertainment Centre was an indoor arena and cinema complex in Perth, Western Australia, located on Wellington Street at the northern edge of the Perth central business district. It was demolished as part of the Perth City Link project in late 2011, with its replacement, Perth Arena, opening the following year. Perth Arena (known commercially as ) is an entertainment and sporting arena in the city centre of Perth, Western Australia, used mostly for basketball matches. It is located on Wellington Street near the site of the former Perth Entertainment Centre, and was officially opened on 10 November 2012. Anthony Norman Albanese ( or ; born 2 March 1963) is an Australian politician serving as the 31st and current prime minister of Australia since 2022. Louise Clare Pratt (born 18 April 1972) is an Australian politician who has been a Senator for Western Australia since 2016, and previously from 2008 to 2014. Lisa-Michelle Scaffidi (; born 12 February 1960) is a former Lord Mayor of Perth, Western Australia. The first female Lord Mayor of Perth, Scaffidi became mayor following the October 2007 council elections, after the retirement of her predecessor, Peter Nattrass, who served a record twelve years in the position.
