Kingdom Of Barue
The Kingdom of Barue was a precolonial kingdom, centred around today's Báruè District in western Mozambique. The kingdom first emerged as a provincial administration of the Kingdom of Mutapa. In 1512, António Fernandes recorded that the area of Barue had a king. This dynasty may have emerged in the 1480s. Báruè District
Báruè District is a Districts of Mozambique, district of Manica Province in western Mozambique. Its principal town is Catandica. The district is located in the west of the province, and borders with Guro District, Manica Province, Guro District in the north, Macossa District in the east, Gondola District in the southeast, Manica District in the south, and with Zimbabwe in the west. The area of the district is . It has a population of 137,582 as of 2007. Geography The Pandira River, Tchatola River, and Gairezi River form the eastern boundary with Zimbabwe.
