Temple Beth Israel, Melbourne
Temple Beth Israel (TBI) is a synagogue affiliated with Progressive Judaism in Melbourne, Australia. The organisation is a member of the Union for Progressive Judaism, an umbrella organisation for Progressive Judaism in Asia and the Pacific. The synagogue was founded in 1930, and was the first Progressive community in Australia. The Progressive, Zionist youth group, Netzer makes use of the grounds of TBI for their weekly activities. During the COVID-19 pandemic TBI moved their prayers online for the High Holy Days, when Melbourne was in the middle of a strict stage 4 lockdown. Alexandra Kiroi-Bogatyreva (born 4 March 2002) is an Australian Rhythmic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnast. Kiroi-Bogatyeva was the 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023 Australian All Around Rhythmic Gymnastics Champion. She won gold medal at 2022 Commonwealth Games for her clubs routine in individual apparatus finals. Early years Born in Wellington, New Zealand, Kiroi-Bogatyreva was raised in Melbourne, Australia. She started gymnastics at the age of 3 and moved to the specialised field of Rhythmic gymnastics, Rhythmic Gymnastics at the age of 6 with Prahran Rhythmic Gymnastics Specialist Centre in Windsor, Victoria, Windsor, an inner South-Eastern suburb of Melbourne.
