Kindle Magazine
''Kindle Magazine'' was an English-language national journal being published online from Kolkata, India, it was founded in 2008 by journalist Pritha Kejriwal (formerly of Hindustan Times and NDTV) and Kolkata-based CFA Maitreyi Kandoi. The journal placed special emphasis on long-form journalism focusing on socio-political and cultural issues. In 2013,the Kindle Magazine received a Special Jury Award from The Laadli Media and Advertising Awards for Gender Sensitivity. History The magazine was launched in 2008 by journalist Pritha Kejriwal and Maitreyi Kandoi, a chartered financial analyst. It ran uninterrupted till 2017. The last published volume was dated March 2017 and featured a cover story on the recently deceased John Berger. Gulzar
Sampooran Singh Kalra (born 18 August 1934), known professionally as Gulzar, is an Indian Urdu poet, lyricist, author, screenwriter, and film director known for his works in Hindi cinema. He is regarded as one of greatest Urdu poets of this era. He started his career with music director S.D. Burman as a lyricist in the 1963 film ''Bandini'' and worked with many music directors including R. D. Burman, Salil Chowdhury, Vishal Bhardwaj and A. R. Rahman. Gulzar also writes poetry, dialogues and scripts. He directed films such as ''Aandhi'' and '' Mausam'' during the 1970s and the TV series ''Mirza Ghalib'' in the 1980s. Tarun Vijay (born 2 March 1956) is an Indian author, social worker and journalist. He was the editor of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) weekly in Hindi, ''Panchajanya'', from 1986 to February 2008. He also writes for the ''Daily Pioneer''. Abhishek Singhvi
Abhishek Manu Singhvi (born 24 February 1959) is an Indian lawyer and politician. As politician, he is a member of the Indian National Congress (INC) and a current Member of the Parliament of India representing West Bengal in the Rajya Sabha, the Upper House of the Indian Parliament. Aruna Roy (née Jayaram, born 6 June 1946) is an Indian social activist, professor, union organiser and former civil servant. She is the president of the National Federation of Indian Women and founder of the Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathan. Kolkata Town Hall in Roman Doric style, was built in 1813 by the architect and engineer Major General John Henry Garstin (1756–1820) with a fund of 700,000 Rupees raised from a lottery to provide the Europeans with a place for social gatherings. At first, the hall was placed under a committee, which allowed the public to use the hall under such terms and conditions as were fixed by the Government. Sarnath Banerjee (born 1972) is an Indian graphic novelist, artist, filmmaker and co-founder of the comics publishing house, Phantomville. Biography Banerjee was born in Calcutta and lives and works in Delhi, India. He studied image and communication at Goldsmiths College, University of London.
