Karen Georgievich Shakhnazarov, PAR (russian: Каре́н Гео́ргиевич Шахназа́ров; born 8 July 1952) is a Soviet and Russian filmmaker, producer and screenwriter. He became the Director General of Mosfilm studios in 1998. Shakhnazarov is the son of a Georgy Shakhnazarov, a politician of Armenian descent, and a Russian housewife, Anna Grigorievna Shakhnazarova. His 1987 film ''Courier'' was entered into the 15th Moscow International Film Festival, where it won a Special Prize. In 2002 he was a member of the jury at the 24th Moscow International Film Festival. Since 2005 he has been a member of the Public Chamber of Russia. His 2012 film ''White Tiger'' was selected as the Russian entry for the Best Foreign Language Oscar at the 85th Academy Awards, but it did not make the final shortlist. Valentin Yuryevich Nikulin (russian: Валенти́н Ю́рьевич Нику́лин; 7 July 1932, Moscow — 6 August 2005, Moscow) was a Soviet, Russian and Israeli theater and film actor. Nikulin was born in the family of the playwright Yuri Nikulin (1907-1958) and pianist Eugeniya Brooke (1909-1982); nephew of the writer Lev Nikulin and actors Konstantin Shayne and Tamara Shayne, and a grandson of impresario Veniamin Nikulin. Nikulin graduated from Moscow State University with a degree in law in 1957 and from the School-Studio at the Moscow Art Theatre (1956–60). Yuri Semyonovich Gusev (born September 25, 1921 – ?) is a USSR, Soviet Chess, chess player and was a Merited Master of Sport of the USSR (1951). He is also a former Broadcast engineering, radio engineer. Gusev peaked with a classical Elo rating system, Elo rating of 2380, making him the equivalent of a FIDE titles#FIDE Master (FM), FIDE Master in terms of strength, although it is not clear what title he ultimately achieved. As of December 2022, it is unknown if he is still alive. Gusev was a participant in many championships in Moscow, including semi-finals of the championship of the USSR (best results: XIX: 4–6, XXII: 6–7). In 1948, he drew a match with Ilya Kan.
