Kim Yoo-jin (StarCraft Player)
Kim Yoo-jin (), better known by his gaming handle sOs, is a Korean professional ''StarCraft II'' player. He is the first two-time StarCraft II World Championship Series winner, claiming the title in 2013 and 2015. Kim spent most of his career playing for the Jin Air Green Wings team, from 2013–2020. He is a Protoss player. He announced his retirement from professional gaming in 2021. Career In 2013, sOs beat Lee Jaedong at the World Championship Series (WCS). In 2015, he repeated his WCS title after beating Life (video gamer), Life in the finals. In 2018 he made another deep run in the WCS. soS defeated his Jin Air teammate Cho "Maru" Seong Ju 3:0 in the quarterfinal; Maru was one of the favorites after Maru had won three GSLs in a row. sOs lost 0:3 to Kim "Stats" Dae-yeob in the semifinal. sOs left Jin Air Green Wings for a new Korean team, Team NV, in November 2020. Jin Air Green Wings () is a South Korean e-sports organization with teams competing in ''StarCraft II'' and ''League of Legends''. Its parent organization is Korean Air subsidiary Jin Air. The organization was formed in November 2011 as a ''StarCraft: Brood War'' team, which combined three disbanding Proleague teams: Hwaesung Oz, WeMade FOX and MBCGame HERO. It was simply known as "The 8th Team" until Jin Air became its title sponsor in July 2013. Lee Seung-Hyun ( ko, 이승현) is a former professional ''StarCraft II'' player from South Korea who played Zerg under the alias Life. His last team was Afreeca Freecs, which he joined in January 2016. He also played for StarTale and KT Rolster. On April 21, 2016, South Korean prosecutors announced that they were charging Life, along with Bbyong, another StarCraft II player, with matchfixing. He was convicted and sentenced to eighteen months in prison, suspended for three years, and fined 70,000,000 South Korean won. Global StarCraft II League (GSL) is a '' StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void'' tournament hosted by afreecaTV and Blizzard Entertainment in South Korea. This event is broadcast up to 2 nights a week.
