Kim Kershaw
Kim Kershaw (born 25 January 1959) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Richmond and Hawthorn in the Victorian Football League (VFL). VFL years Kershaw grew up in Wagga Wagga and started his VFL career at South Melbourne, but only got as high as reserve level.''The Age''"Another 'Hungry' in Tiger line-up" 3 May 1979, p. 36 He was swapped by South Melbourne for Richmond rover Jon Hummel. In 1979 and 1980 he played a total of five senior games for Richmond, as a ruckman. His only league appearance for Hawthorn that year came when in round 17, when ruckman Don Scott was unavailable. Scott retired at the end of the season, but Hawthorn then recruited Michael Byrne and Kershaw only played three games in 1982. Richmond Football Club
The Richmond Football Club, nicknamed the Tigers, is an Australian rules football team playing in the Australian Football League (AFL). Between its inception in the Melbourne suburb of Richmond in 1885 and 1907, the club competed in the Victorian Football Association (VFA), winning two premierships. Richmond joined the Victorian Football League (now known as the AFL) in 1908 and has since won 13 premierships, most recently in 2020. Richmond's headquarters and training facilities are located at its original home ground, the Punt Road Oval, which sits adjacent to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), the club's playing home since 1965. The club currently competes in the men's and women's Victorian Football League and VFLW competitions. 2008 Australian Football International Cup
The 2008 Australian Football International Cup was the third time the Australian Football International Cup, an international Australian rules football competition, has been contested. It was scheduled for 2008 (as part of the 150th year celebrations of Australian Football), with 16 nations competing. The tournament was hosted by both Melbourne and Warrnambool in Victoria, Australia between 27 August and 6 September, with a single match additionally played in Geelong. Best And Fairest
In Australian sport, the best and fairest award recognises the player(s) adjudged to have had the best performance in a game or over a season for a given sporting club or competition. The awards are sometimes dependent on not receiving a suspension for misconduct or breaching the rules during that season. In the Australian Football League (AFL), the Brownlow Medal is awarded to the player who, provided he has not been suspended during the season, receives the most votes from the umpires for being the Fairest and Best player in games during the home and away season. In each game, the umpires award three votes to the player they judge to be the best afield in that game, two votes to the second-best player and one vote to the third-best player. The votes are counted at a gala function on the Monday preceding the Grand Final. In team sport, team of the century and team of the decade are hypothetical best teams over a given time period. For the century team, it can be either 100 years, or for a century (always the 20th). Similarly the team of the decade can be for 10 years or a decade (for example the 1980s).
