Kim Giddens
Kim Elizabeth Giddens (born 30 December 1979) is an Australian politician. She has been an Australian Labor Party member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly since 2021, representing the electoral district of Bateman. Giddens studied politics and international relations at the University of New South Wales and education at Charles Darwin University. Prior to entering politics, Giddens was the principal policy advisor to state MP Peter Tinley. She had previously worked for the Tasmanian Government. The Australian Labor Party (Western Australian Branch), commonly known as WA Labor, is the Western Australian branch of the Australian Labor Party. It is the current governing party of Western Australia since winning the 2017 election under Mark McGowan. History The Western Australian state division of the Australian Labor Party was formed at a Trade Union Congress in Coolgardie in 1899. Shortly afterwards the federal Labor Party was formalised in time for Australian federation in 1901. Peter Tinley
Peter Charles Tinley (born 9 July 1962) is an Australian politician and former soldier. Peter has been a Labor Party member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly since November 2009, representing the electorate of Willagee. Early life and military career Born in the northern Perth suburb of Karrinyup, Tinley joined the Australian Army in 1981 and graduated from Royal Military College, Duntroon, earning the Queen's Medal as the cadet graduating top of his class. He spent 17 of his 25 years in the army in the Special Air Service Regiment (SASR). In 2002, he was the lead tactical planner for Australia's special forces advising the United States, and in 2003 he served as Deputy Commander for the Special Forces Task Group in Iraq. Nhulunbuy () is a township that is the Northern Territory#Cities and towns, sixth largest population centre in the Northern Territory of Australia. Nhulunbuy was created on the Gove Peninsula in north-east Arnhem Land when a bauxite mine and a deep water port were established in the late 1960s, followed by an alumina refinery.
