Kim Dong-hyeon (; born 14 July 1994) is a South Korean professional footballer who plays as midfielder. He last played for Siheung Citizen FC in the 2018 K3 League Basic. Career Born in 1994, Kim is a Pohang Steelers youth product and played there from 2010 to 2012 before moving to Dong-a University team 2013. Pohang Steelers He began his professional club career at the K League Classic side Pohang Steelers in January 2016. The South Korean midfielder has represented Steelers in the 2016 AFC Champions League where he faced teams such as Sydney FC, Guangzhou Evergrande and the Japanese powerhouse Urawa Red Diamonds. Gangneung City In 2017 he signed with Gangneung City FC on loan from Pohang Steelers. He appeared in 14 K3 League matches with Gangneung until his end of loan. K3 League
The K3 League is the third tier of South Korean football league system, which was created from the rebranding of the Korea National League (2003–2019) and the former K3 League (2007–2019) into K3 League and K4 League in 2020. 16 teams are currently playing in the league. History The Korean National Semi-Professional Football League, the semi-professional league of South Korea, began in 1964 and lasted until it was replaced by the Korea National League (KNL) in 2003. 15 clubs played in the new KNL. With the establishment of the K League Challenge (currently K League 2) as a second-tier professional league in 2013, the number of clubs in the KNL decreased. K4 League
The K4 League is the fourth tier of the South Korean football league system. After 2019, the semi-professional Korea National League and the former amateur K3 League were rebranded into the current K3 League and K4 League. Competition format The promotion and relegation system exists between the K3 League and the K4 League, both being semi-professional leagues. However, since the 2021 season, teams from professional leagues K League 1 and K League 2 were allowed to create reserve teams set to play in the K4 League, in order to give academy players and/or other registered players more game time.
