Killing Of Rabbi Meir Hai
The killing of Rabbi Meir Hai was an attack carried out by Palestinian Fatah militants on 24 December 2009 in the West Bank. Background Rabbi Meir Avshalom Hai (alt. Chai) was a 45-year-old Israeli Rabbi and father of seven who lived in the Israeli settlement of Shavei Shomron located in the northern West Bank, where had resided for 14 years before his murder. Hai was a Torah teacher and principal at the Shavei Shomron school. Hai was the son-in-law of the former Emanuel mayor Eliyahu Merav and was also a well-known member of the Bratslav Hassidic community. The attack On Thursday, 24 December 2009, at around 16:30 pm Hai drove his minivan out of the village of Einav and headed towards his home at Shavei Shomron. Nahshon Battalion
Nahshon is an urban warfare-trained infantry battalion in the Israel Defense Forces tasked with patrolling the area of Nablus in the West Bank. The National Union ( he, האיחוד הלאומי, ''HaIhud HaLeumi'') was an alliance of right-wing and nationalist political parties in Israel. Michael Ben-Ari
Michael Ben-Ari ( he, מיכאל בן ארי, born 12 October 1963) is an Israeli politician, and former member of the Knesset. During the 18th Knesset, Ben Ari was a member of the National Union party, until it broke up as elections for the 19th Knesset approached and he co-established the Otzma LeYisrael party. He failed to be re-elected to the 19th Knesset. He was banned by the courts from running in the 2019 election. He was the first outspoken disciple of Rabbi Meir Kahane to have been elected to the Knesset. He has a Ph.D in Land of Israel and Archaeology studies. Uri Yehuda Ariel ( he, אורי אריאל, born 22 December 1952) is an Israeli politician who formerly served as a member of the Knesset for The Jewish Home (within which he chaired the Tkuma faction), and as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. Biography Uri Ariel was born in Afula, and grew up on kibbutz Tirat Tzvi, which his father had helped found. Ya'akov Dov "Katzele" Katz () (born 29 September 1951) is an Israeli politician. He led the National Union (Israel), National Union party from 2008 to 2012, for whom he was a member of the Knesset, and is also the Executive Director of Beit El yeshiva Center Institutions and Arutz Sheva. Yaakov Neeman
Yaakov Neeman ( he, יעקב נאמן, 16 September 1939 – 1 January 2017) was an Israeli lawyer who also served as Minister of Justice and Minister of Finance. Biography Neeman was born to a religious Zionist family in Tel Aviv during the Mandate era. He was educated at the Midrashiat Noam high-school yeshiva and completed his military service in the Golani Brigade. He went on to study law at Hebrew University of Jerusalem, earning a LL.B in 1964. In 1965, he earned a LL.M from New York University, and in 1968, a LL.D. Eliyahu "Eli" Yishai ( he, אליהו "אלי" ישי, born 26 December 1962) is an Israeli politician.
