Idleness
Idleness is a lack of motion or energy. In describing a person, idle means the act of nothing or no work (for example: "John Smith is an idle person"). A person who spends his or her days doing nothing could be said to be "idly passing his or her days" (for example: "Mary has been idle on her instant messenger account for hours."). An idle machine is stopped, exerting no work. A computer processor or communication circuit is described as idle when it is not being used by any program, application or message. Dave Lindorff
Dave Lindorff is an American investigative reporter, filmmaker, a columnist for ''CounterPunch'' and a contributor to '' Tarbell.org,'' ''The Nation,'' ''FAIR'' and ''Salon.com''. His work was highlighted by Project Censored 2004, 2011 and 2012. Born in 1949, Lindorff lives just outside Philadelphia. Career Lindorff graduated from Wesleyan University in 1972 with a BA in Chinese language. He then received an MS in Journalism from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in 1975. Killing Time (Massacre Album)
''Killing Time'' is the debut album by American experimental rock trio Massacre. It was released in September 1981, through record label Celluloid. It consists of a compilation of recordings made at Martin Bisi's OAO studio in Brooklyn, New York City in June 1981, and live recordings taken from their April 1981 Paris concerts. The group disbanded shortly after, eventually reforming 17 years later with Charles Hayward replacing Maher on drums. They recorded one more studio album and three live albums for John Zorn’s Tzadik Records. ''Killing Time'' was generally well received by critics of the time. Critical reception AllMusic called it "one of the most obscure and most wonderful" albums to come out of the early 1980s downtown avant-garde scene. ''Killing Time'' is the fifth studio album by American rock band Bayside. Background and production On March 12, 2010, it was announced that they group had signed to major label Wind-up Records and were expected to release their next album in the fall. The album was produced by famed British producer Gil Norton, who has previously worked with such bands as the Pixies, Foo Fighters and Jimmy Eat World. Sweet Savage
Sweet Savage are a heavy metal band from Belfast, Northern Ireland, formed in 1979. Future Dio and Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell was an early member. Since forming in 1979, Sweet Savage have released three studio albums, three singles and one demo. Their latest album, ''Regeneration'', was released in 2011. Considered one of the pioneers of the new wave of British heavy metal movement alongside acts such as Iron Maiden, Saxon, Diamond Head, and Def Leppard, due to a handful of songs, most notably, played and recorded live on the BBC Radio One - ''The Friday Rock Show''. The band however, only released two singles in their first incarnation, failed to record a single album and thus success eluded them, leading to their disbandment by 1983. ''Killin' Time'' was recorded in the spring of 1977 and released in Denmark in the summer of 1978. In Sweden it was released as ''Tivoli''. It was Gasolin's fourth and last album with English lyrics. Actually it was their last studio album release, although ''Gør det Noget'' was the last album they recorded. ''Killin' Time'' was produced by Felix Pappalardi because Gasolin' wanted someone who could produce an "American" sound so they could break the lucrative American market. However, Gasolin' was not satisfied with Pappalardi's mix and the record company would not release it in the USA because they did not believe that ''Killin' Time'' would sell. It was shelved for a year, and then released using another mix by Franz Beckerlee. Mantissa were an Australian hard rock band which formed as Killing Time in 1989. Killing Time included Nina Grant on bass guitar and vocals, Chris Paine on guitar, and Adam Pringle on lead vocals. In February 1991 they issued an extended play, ''Ruby's Mind'', which reached the Top 100 on the ARIA Singles Chart. Their ''Dream Alone'' (March 1992) extended play, peaked in the Top 30. Killing Time supported national tours by Jane's Addiction, Mudhoney, Scatterbrain and Baby Animals. Killing Time is a New York hardcore band. From their beginnings in 1988, under the name Raw Deal, they went on to record two full-length albums and several EPs, singles, and compilation tracks. The band went through three hiatuses before formally disbanding in 1998. However, the band re-formed in 2006 and has been touring/playing since. Work on their third full-length album was completed in March 2009. History Early days as Raw Deal (1989–1990) Raw Deal was formed in 1988 by Carl Porcaro, Rich McLoughlin and Anthony Drago after they split from their former band, Breakdown. Simon Robert Armitage (born 26 May 1963) is an English poet, playwright, musician and novelist. He was appointed Poet Laureate on 10 May 2019. He is professor of poetry at the University of Leeds.
