Ranko Marinković
Ranko Marinković (22 February 1913 – 28 January 2001) was a Croatian novelist and dramatist. Born in Komiža on the island of Vis (then a part of Austria-Hungary), Marinković's childhood was marked by World War I. He later earned a degree in philosophy at the University of Zagreb. In the 1930s, he began to make his name in Zagreb literary circles with his plays and stories. His career was interrupted briefly during World War II. When his native island was occupied by Fascist Italy, he was arrested in Split and interned in the Ferramonti camp. After the capitulation of Italy, Marinković went to Bari, and then to the El Shatt refugee camp where he made contacts with Tito's Partisans. After the war, he spent time working in theatre. Antun Vrdoljak
Antun Vrdoljak (; born 5 June 1931) is a Croatian film actor and director, sports official, and head of Croatian Radiotelevision during the Yugoslav Wars. Between the 1960s and early 1990s he was mainly a film artist. In the early 1990s he became involved in politics and became a prominent member of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), which led to his appointment to a series of offices. He was director general of Croatian Radiotelevision (1991–1995), and president of the Croatian Olympic Committee (1991–2000). Ivo Gregurević (; 7 October 1952 – 1 January 2019) was a Croatian film, theatre and television actor. Throughout over a quarter of a century, Gregurević played rural bullies and arrogant nouveau riche and became one of Croatia's best known and most lauded character actors. Mustafa Nadarević (2 May 1943 – 22 November 2020) was a Bosnian and Croatian actor. Boris Dvornik (; 16 April 1939 – 24 March 2008) was a Croatian actor. Biography Born in Split to the family of a carpenter, Dvornik discovered acting talent at an early age, while performing in children's plays. After studying to become an electrician, he began to pursue a full-time acting career. He studied at the National Acting School in Novi Sad and later enrolled at the Academy of Dramatic Art at the University of Zagreb.
