Kieran Murphy (Sarsfields Hurler)
Kieran Murphy (born 22 February 1983 in Glanmire, County Cork) is an Irish former sportsperson. He played hurling with his local club Sarsfields GAA (Cork), Sarsfields and was a member of the Cork GAA, Cork senior inter-county team from 2003 until 2011. Murphy was appointed captain of the team for 2010. Murphy announced his retirement from inter-county hurling in 2011 due to work commitments outside the Cork area. Playing career Sarsfields Murphy plays his club hurling with his local club called Sarsfields GAA (Cork), Sarsfield's and has enjoyed much success. He first came to prominence as the club enjoyed an under-age boom in the early years of the new century. After experiencing little success at minor level, Murphy was a key member of the 'Sars' under-21 team that reached the final of the Cork Under-21 Hurling Championship, county under-21 championship in 2003. Sarsfields GAA (Cork)
Sarsfields GAA is a hurling club is based in the Riverstown and Glanmire area of County Cork. The club plays in the Imokilly division of Cork GAA. They have won six County Championships, 1951, 1957, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014. They have also won three Minor County Championships, 2007, 2008 and 2014. The club derives its name for the Irish Jacobite and soldier Patrick Sarsfield, 1st Earl of Lucan. County Championship history While the club reached a number of championship semi-finals prior to 1936, it wasn't until the 1936 Cork Senior Hurling Championship before the club contested their first final. They lost out to Glen Rovers that year. 1940 would be the next time they would make final, again losing out to Glen Rovers. Teddy Holland
Timothy A. Holland (born 1948), known as Teddy Holland, is an Irish Gaelic football coach and former player. At club level he played with Ballinascarthy, Carbery and St Finbarr's and was a member of and later managed the Cork senior football team. Holland usually lined out as a forward. Playing career Holland's club career spanned four decades from the 1960s to the early 1990s. Beginning with Ballinascarthy, he earned inclusion on the Carbery divisional team that won County Championship titles in 1968 and 1971. He later transferred to the St Finbarr's club and was at midfield on their 1981 All-Ireland Club Championship-winning team. Diarmuid O'Sullivan
Diarmuid O'Sullivan (born 27 July 1978) is an Irish hurling coach and hurler who plays for Cork Premier Championship club Cloyne. He played for the Cork senior hurling team for 12 years, during which time he usually lined out as a full-back. A fan favourite who was noted for his swashbuckling style during his inter-county career, O'Sullivan is considered a "Cork legend". Seán Óg Ó hAilpín (; born 22 May 1977) is a Fijian-Irish hurler and Gaelic footballer. In an inter-county playing career that spanned three decades, Ó hAilpín played for the Cork senior hurling and football teams, winning major honours with both. Ben O'Connor (hurler)
Ben O'Connor (born 25 January 1979) is an Irish hurling coach and former player. He is the current coach of the Charleville intermediate team. O'Connor played for Cork Senior Championship club Newtownshandrum and was a member of the Cork senior hurling team for 14 seasons, during which time he usually lined out as a right wing-forward. Noted for his commanding presence and scoring ability on the wing, he is regarded as one of the greatest players of his generation. Aidan Fogarty
Aidan Fogarty (born 20 July 1982) is an Irish hurler who played as a left corner-forward for the Kilkenny senior team. Born in Urlingford, County Kilkenny, Fogarty first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-one when he first linked up with the Kilkenny intermediate team, before later joining the under-21 side. He joined the senior panel during the 2003 championship. Fogarty quickly became a regular member of the starting fifteen, and won five All-Ireland medals, four Leinster medals and three National League medals on the field of play. He was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. As a member of the Leinster inter-provincial team on a number of occasions, Fogarty won three Railway Cup medals. Joseph Deane (born 15 November 1977) is an Irish retired hurler who played for East Cork club Killeagh. He played for the Cork senior hurling team for 13 years, during which time he usually lined out as a left corner-forward. The Munster GAA Hurling Senior Championship, known simply as the Munster Championship, is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition organised by the Munster GAA, Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA).
