Kiddus I (born Frank Dowding Jr, December 1944)Katz, David (2000) "People Funny Boy - The Genius of Lee 'Scratch' Perry", Payback Press, is a reggae singer and musician, best known for his appearance in the film '' Rockers''. Biography Dowding was born in 1944 in Saint Mary Parish, Jamaica. His mother, Maria Cathcart Dowding a home maker and his father, Frank Dowding, a bookkeeper. He adopted the stage name Kiddus, which is Amharic for "blessed one", after becoming a Rastafarian. Theodoros Bafaloukos
Theodoros Bafaloukos (May 18, 1946 – 2016) was a director, screenwriter and production designer from Greece known for his work in Jamaica and the U.S. He directed '' Rockers'', the 1970s era film about Jamaican music and culture. Bafaloukos was born on the island of Andros in Greece. He traveled to Jamaica as a photographer in 1975 where he was briefly detained under suspicion of being a CIA spy. He lived on the island and became friends with Augustus Pablo who features in the film. The film became an influential classic. ''TimeOut'' called it a Trenchtown variant on the story of Robin Hood. It premiered at the San Francisco Film Festival in 1978 and was shown at the Cannes Film Festival the same year as Apocalypse Now. It was received enthusiastically. Saint Elizabeth Parish
Saint Elizabeth, one of Jamaica's largest parishes, is located in the southwest of the island, in the county of Cornwall. Its capital, Black River, is located at the mouth of the Black River, the widest on the island. History Saint Elizabeth originally included most of the southwest part of the island, but Westmoreland was taken from it in 1703, and in 1814 a part of Manchester. The resulting areas were named after the wife of Sir Thomas Modyford, the first English Governor of Jamaica. There are archeological traces of Taíno/Arawak existence in the parish, as well as of 17th-century colonial Spanish settlements. After 1655, when the English settled on the island, they concentrated on developing large sugar cane plantations with enslaved African workers. Today, buildings with 'Spanish wall' construction (masonry of limestone sand and stone between wooden frames) can still be seen in some areas. ''Moringa'' is the sole genus in the plant family Moringaceae. It contains 13 species from tropical and subtropical regions of Africa and Asia that range in size from tiny herbs to massive trees. ''Moringa'' species grow quickly in many types of environments.
