Kid Montana
Kid Montana was a Belgian electropop band that was active from 1981 to 1987. Kid Montana began in 1981 as an alias for Belgian musician Jean-Marc Lederman. Throughout that year, Lederman recorded tracks with various contributors which were published on compilations under the Kid Montana name. These recordings were collected on the EP ''Statistics Mean Nothing When You Get On The Wrong Plane'', released in 1982. In mid-1983 American singer Dudley Klute joined Kid Montana. Klute and Lederman released ''Revisiting Yalta,'' a 12" EP, in November 1983. The single ''Love May Be Blind'' and mini album ''The Las Vegas Gold Rush'' came out on Belgian label Les Disques du Crépuscule in October and December 1985 respectively. The group released their only full-length album, ''Temperamental,'' in 1987. New Wave Music
New wave is a loosely defined music genre that encompasses pop-oriented styles from the late 1970s and the 1980s. It was originally used as a catch-all for the various styles of music that emerged after punk rock, including punk itself. Synthpop
Synth-pop (short for synthesizer pop; also called techno-pop; ) is a subgenre of new wave music that first became prominent in the late 1970s and features the synthesizer as the dominant musical instrument. It was prefigured in the 1960s and early 1970s by the use of synthesizers in progressive rock, electronic, art rock, disco, and particularly the Krautrock of bands like Kraftwerk. Les Disques Du Crépuscule
Les Disques du Crépuscule is an independent record label founded in Belgium. The label was founded in 1980 by Michel Duval and Annik Honoré. It also had a prominent associated sublabel, Factory Benelux. Both are now run by former employee James Nice. "Crépuscule" translates as "twilight", with most of the label's catalogue numbers prefixed by the letters TWI. History Duval and Honoré had previously organised and promoted concerts in Brussels at the Plan K venue. The name ''Les Disques du Crépuscule'' was coined by Honoré. Their first visible work as Crépuscule was the fanzine ''Plein Soleil'', issued in June 1980. The company also issued recordings by Factory Records-affiliated artists as Factory Benelux. LTM Recordings (originally les temps modernes) is a British independent record label founded in 1983, and best known for reissues of artists and music from 1978 to the present day, as well as modern classical and avant-garde composition. The label is based in Norfolk, England, and is curated by James Nice. Particularly notable are reissues of catalogue originally released by Factory Records, Les Disques du Crépuscule, Compact Organisation and Sarah Records. Nice has also reactivated the Factory Benelux and Crépuscule labels, for reissues and new releases. Jean-Marc Lederman is a Belgium, Belgian keyboard player and record producer, producer. He has worked with bands such as Fad Gadget, The The, Gene Loves Jezebel, The Weathermen (Belgian band), The Weathermen, Belgian rock band Streets, and Front 242, and with other artists including Julianne Regan, Jacques Duvall and Alain Bashung.
