KiHa 85 Series
The is a diesel multiple unit (DMU) train type operated by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) on '' Hida'' and ''Nanki'' limited express services in Japan. Technical specifications The trains use stainless steel car bodies, consist of up to five cars per trainset and are powered by DMF14HZ engines. Two types of end cars exist, of which one has a gangway. Taita Line
The is a 17.8 km railway line in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, operated by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central). It connects Tajimi Station in the city of Tajimi via Kani to Mino-Ōta Station in Minokamo. The name of the line includes a ''kanji'' from each of the terminal stations. Operations During the day, service operates at approximately 30 minute intervals. In addition to trains running between Tajimi and Mino-Ōta Stations, there are also trains that enter the Takayama Main Line and run through to Gifu Station. During weekday morning and evening rush hours and on Saturday mornings, a train serves commuters by going to Nagoya Station. HC85 Series
The is a diesel-electric multiple unit (DEMU) train type built Nippon Sharyo for use on limited express services operated by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central). Intended to replace the KiHa 85 series, a prototype trainset was completed in late 2019, with a full-production fleet first materializing in 2022. The fleet was first introduced into service on 1 July 2022 on the Takayama Main Line. Design The first set was manufactured by Nippon Sharyo at its Toyokawa facility. JR Central calls it a "hybrid car", due to the train having electric engines, with power supplied by an onboard diesel generator. The KiHa 80 series was a diesel multiple unit type that operated on express services from 1960 to 2002, under Japan National Railways and later under JR Hokkaido and JR Central. Two variants were initially built: the KiHa 81 series to replace the then steam-operated ''Hatsukari'' services in 1960, and the KiHa 82 series for other services from 1961 to 1967; the KiHa 81 series sets would receive the fourth ''Blue Ribbon Award'' for outstanding design from the . The is a limited express train service in Japan operated by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central), which runs from Nagoya to Shingū and Kii-Katsuura. Takayama Main Line
The is a Japanese railway line between Gifu Station in Gifu and Toyama Station in Toyama, operated by Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) and West Japan Railway Company (JR West).
