Khrysis
Christopher Frederick Tyson (born September 7, 1981), better known as Khrysis, is an American hip hop producer and half of the duo The Away Team. Khrysis' productions consist of samples of records with intricate melodies and diverse drum beats. He began in his teens, recording tracks from his father's massive jazz and R&B record collection onto tape, and then extracting drum samples to make loops using a dual cassette player. He met rapper Chaundon at NC Central University, who introduced him to 9th Wonder. Elzhi
Jason Powers (born May 12, 1978), better known by his stage name Elzhi (stylized as eLZhi), is an American rapper from Detroit, Michigan. He is a former member of Slum Village and now records as a solo artist. In his youth, he made numerous visits to the Hip-Hop shop in Detroit, taking advantage of open-mic nights hosted by fellow Detroit rapper Proof. Biography ''Out of Focus'' In 1998, Elzhi recorded a number of songs with Detroit hip-hop artist DJ Houseshoes with DJ Rios. These recording sessions yielded material that would become the ''Out of Focus EP'', but the project was abandoned due to personal obligations and a lack of distribution options in Detroit. During the mixing process, DJ Houseshoes passed the DATs onto Dilla, who intended on remixing the whole album before his passing. ''Scars & Stripes'' is the fourth album by North Carolina hip hop duo The Away Team, it was released on October 11, 2011, on 9th Wonder's label Jamla Records and Duck Down. The album's entirely produced by Khrysis, featuring contributions from their labelmates Big Remo, Heather Victoria, Actual Proof, HaLo, Rapsody and GQ as well as Evidence (of Dilated Peoples), King Mez, Talib Kweli, among others. It's A Wonderful World Music Group is an independent record label, founded by hip hop producer 9th Wonder in 2008. History 9th Wonder founded It's A Wonderful World Music Group shortly after leaving the group Little Brother (group), Little Brother. The idea of starting his own label was given to him by a fiance of one of the members of his production team. The company initially had distribution from Warner Music Group under Asylum and Warner Bros. Records. However, creative differences between 9th and Asylum Records were the primary delay behind the release of his 2011 album ''The Wonder Years''. He then left the company and sought distribution from Traffic Entertainment Group and The Orchard for the physical release of It's A Wonderful World's first offering, Big Remo's 2010 album ''Entrapment'' and his long-delayed ''The Wonder Years''. Rapsody
Marlanna Evans (born January 21, 1983), better known by her stage name Rapsody, is an American rapper. Her second album, ''Laila's Wisdom'' (2017), which was critically acclaimed, received two Grammy Award nominations for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Song. Rapsody released her third studio album, '' Eve'' on August 23, 2019 to critical acclaim from music critics. Career Rapsody began her career at North Carolina State University, where she joined hip hop collective H2O and its spinoff group Kooley High, despite not having rapped before.
