Khimki Basketball Center, or Khimki Basketball Center of Moscow Region, is an indoor sporting arena that is located in Khimki, Russia. The total seating capacity of the arena for basketball games is 5,025, which includes the arena's lounge areas. The arena's regular fan seating capacity is 4,000. It is the home arena of the VTB United League professional basketball club Khimki Moscow Region. Khimki ( rus, Химки, p=ˈxʲimkʲɪ) is a city in Moscow Oblast, Russia, 18.25 kilometres northwest of central Moscow, and immediately beyond the Moscow city boundary. History Origins and formation Khimki was initially a railway station that existed since 1850 on the Moscow – Saint Petersburg Railway. The Moskva-Volga Canal was constructed between 1932 and 1937 on which Khimki lies on the west bank. Khimki was then officially founded in 1939. 2012 Eurocup Basketball Final Four
The 2012 Eurocup Final Four was the concluding stage of the 2011–12 Eurocup season, the 10th season of the second-tier basketball league in Europe. Euroleague Basketball Company announced that the 2011-12 Eurocup season would culminate with the Eurocup Finals in Khimki, Russia, on April 14 and 15. The 2009–10 Euroleague was the 10th season of the professional basketball competition for elite clubs throughout Europe, organised by Euroleague Basketball Company, and it was the 53rd season of the premier competition for European men's clubs overall. The regular season featured 24 teams from 13 countries. This season marked the first time since 2001–02 season that a qualifying round was used to determine the last two teams for the regular season. The club's senior men's first team participates in the Russian Basketball Super League 1. The club's full official name is BC Khimki Moscow Region. VTB United League (russian: Единая Лига ВТБ) is an international professional men's club basketball list of basketball leagues, league that was founded in 2008. It is made up of mostly Russian clubs, along with one each from Belarus and Kazakhstan.
