Kherkatta Reservoir
Kherkatta Dam, officially Paralkot Reservoir is a medium irrigation project located in the Kanker district of Chhattisgarh state, India. It is the largest dam of the Kanker district although its northwestern portion partially lies in the Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district. It is built across the Kotri River near the village of Kherkatta, about northwest of Kapsi, north of Pakhanjore, south of Manpur, Chhattisgarh, Manpur and west of Kanker, Chhattisgarh, Kanker. The construction of the dam began in 1966 and was completed in 1981 by the Dandakaranya Development Authority, over a period of 15 years. The total cost of construction was estimated at . It was handed over to the state government in the year 1986 and placed under the Kapsi Water Resource Subdivision for its upkeep and maintenance.
