Akram Fouad Khater
Akram Fouad Khater (Arabic: أكرم فؤاد خاطر; born December 3, 1960) is a Lebanese-born American professor, historian, and author. He serves as a professor of history, and the director of the Moise A. Khayrallah Center for Lebanese Diaspora Studies at North Carolina State University (NCSU). He specializes in the history of Lebanon, Lebanese Studies and diaspora, the Middle Eastern history, and Arab relations. Biography Akram Fouad Khater was born on December 3, 1960 in Lebanon. He immigrated to the United States in 1978, during the Lebanese Civil War. Khater received a B.S. degree from California State Polytechnic University, a M.A. degree in 1987 from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley in 1993. Lahad Khater (1881–1975) was a Lebanese educator, historian, journalist and writer. He was the editor of a Jesuit publication entitled ''Al Bashir'' between 1924 and 1947. Lama Khater ( ar, لمى خاطر) is a Palestinian journalist and writer who comments on human rights and the Middle East. The mother of five children, she has written for many newspapers and websites such as '' Felestin''. Khater is a vociferous critic of Israel and the Palestinian Authority's political stands. Silencing Ramallah Authority's intelligence service arrested her husband, Hazem Al-Fakhouri, many times trying to stop her writing. On 24 July 2018 Lama Khater was detained in Hebron by the Israeli army and taken to Ashkelon Prison. On 1 August her lawyer reported she was being questioned for 10 hours a day. Salih Khater
On 14 August 2018, three people were injured when a silver Ford Fiesta hit them near the Palace of Westminster, London, England. The car then went on to crash into the separation barrier of the pavement situated between St Margaret Street / Abingdon Street and Old Palace Yard. The Metropolitan Police responded within seconds and arrested the driver, Salih Khater, without further incident. An ambulance immediately behind the Ford stopped and gave assistance to the injured. Khater was subsequently found guilty of two counts of attempted murder and sentenced to life in prison. Events The incident occurred at 07:37 BST on 14 August 2018. Suleiman Khater
Suleiman Mohammed Abdul-Hamid Khater (Arabic سليمان خاطر, also transcribed ''Soleiman'', ''Sulaiman'', ''Sulayman'', ''Suliman'' etc.; 1961-1986) was an Egyptian soldier who committed the Ras Burqa massacre of October 5, 1985, when he opened fire on Israeli tourists in the Sinai Peninsula, killing seven of them, as well as an Egyptian police officer. While Israel demanded that he be harshly punished, he enjoyed widespread support in Egypt and throughout the Arab world for his actions.
