Alexander Valeryevich "Sasha" Kharlamov (russian: Александр Валерьевич Харламов; born September 23, 1975) is a Russian former ice hockey player. Kharlamov was selected in the first round of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft by the Washington Capitals, though he never played in the National Hockey League. He instead spent his career between Russia and the minor leagues of North America, and ultimately retired in 2004. Internationally he played for the Russian national junior team at the 1994 and 1995 World Junior Championships. Nikolai Mikhailovich Kharlamov (russian: Никола́й Миха́йлович Харла́мов; 19 December 1905 – 9 April 1983) was a Soviet military leader and admiral. Early life Kharlamov was born in the city of Zhukovka in the Oryol Governorate on 1905. Military career In 1922, he joined the Soviet Navy and in 1925, he became member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Semyon Kharlamov
Semyon Ilyich Kharlamov (russian: Семён Ильич Харламов; 30 April 1921 5 May 1990) was a reconnaissance and fighter pilot during World War II who was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union. He later went on to hold various command posts in the air force, and eventually reaching the rank of colonel-general. His wife, Nadezhda Popova, a squadron commander in the famed "Night Witches" who he met at the warfront, was also a Hero of the Soviet Union. The title Hero of the Soviet Union (russian: Герой Советского Союза, translit=Geroy Sovietskogo Soyuza) was the highest distinction in the Soviet Union, awarded together with the Order of Lenin personally or collectively for heroic feats in service to the Soviet state and society. Overview The award was established on 16 April 1934, by the Central Executive Committee of the Soviet Union. Vasily Akimovich Kharlamov (russian: Васи́лий Аки́мович Харла́мов) (1 January 1875 – 13 March 1957) was a Russian politician involved in the revolution and civil war. Kharlamov, of the Don Cossacks, was a member of the Constitutional Democratic Party and was elected to all four State Dumas of the Russian Empire. After the 1917 February Revolution, the Russian Provisional Government made him a chair of the ephemeral Special Transcaucasian Committee (Ozakom) in 1917.
