Khaleda Zia
Khaleda Zia (; born Khaleda Khanam Putul in 1945) is a Bangladeshi politician who served as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh from March 1991 to March 1996, and again from June 2001 to October 2006. She was the first female prime minister of Bangladesh. She is the widow of former President of Bangladesh Ziaur Rahman. She is the current chairperson and leader of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) which was founded by Rahman in 1978. After a military coup in 1982, led by Army Chief General Hussain Muhammad Ershad, Zia helped lead the movement for democracy until the fall of Ershad in 1990. She became the prime minister following the BNP party win in the 1991 general election. Jalpaiguri
Jalpaiguri is a city in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is the headquarters of the Jalpaiguri district as well as of the Jalpaiguri division of West Bengal, covering the jurisdiction of the five districts of North Bengal. Shirin Akhter
Shirin Akhter (born 12 April 1954) is the general secretary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal and the incumbent Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Feni-1 constituency since January 2014. Career Akhter is the general secretary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, the faction led by Hasanul Haq Inu. Inu is a former information minister of Bangladesh. Inu appointed her the general secretary of the party on 12 March 2016. The party then split in two over opposition to her appointment by some party members. The rebel faction was led by Sharif Nurul Ambia and Moinuddin Khan Badal. Sayeed Iskander
Sayeed Iskander (13 January 1953 – 23 September 2012) was a Bangladeshi politician and army major. He was a member of the Bangladeshi parliament from 2001 to 2006, representing the Bangladesh Nationalist Party from the Feni-1 constituency. He was the younger brother of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. Iskander was also the founding chairman of Islamic Television. Early life Sayeed Iskander was born on 13 January 1953 in Dinajpur. Taiyaba Majumder (1921 – 18 January 2008) was a Bangladeshi housewife and recipient of the Begum Rokeya Padak. Jatiya Oikya Front (English: National Unity Front; bn, জাতীয় ঐক্য ফ্রন্ট) was a Bangladesh-based political alliance of primarily four parties led by Kamal Hossain. The 20 Party Alliance is a Bangladeshi coalition of right-wing political parties, led by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. It was originally formed as the 18 Party Alliance on 18 April 2012 in Dhaka, extending its predecessor the Four Party Alliance.
