Kewdale, Western Australia
Kewdale is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia within the City of Belmont. Kew Street was one of the first roads in this district, hence the naming of the suburb. Geography Kewdale is bounded by Cloverdale and Perth Airport to the north, Belmont to the east and Welshpool and Carlisle to the south. The suburb is a mixture of residential to the west with commercial and industrial areas to the east. A number of notable parks and reserves can be found in the area including Tomato Lake, Willow Lake Park, Wicca Reserve, Peet and Peachy parks and smaller Cottage and Nance Parks to the east. Transport Kewdale is well serviced by several bus routes including 38, 39, 380 and 284 which offer direct connections to Perth Airport, Elizabeth Quay, Curtin University Bus Station, St Georges Terrace, Victoria Park and Oats Street Station which falls on the Armadale line. Electoral District Of Belmont
Belmont is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia. Belmont is named for the inner eastern Perth suburb of Belmont, which falls within its borders. The seat was in its present incarnation considered a safe Labor seat prior to 2013, and was held by former Labor leader Eric Ripper; however, it fell to Liberal Glenys Godfrey in the Liberal landslide at the 2013 state election. Belmont reverted to its status as a safe Labor seat when Cassie Rowe won it at the 2017 state election. History Belmont was initially within the vast electorate of Canning. Kewdale Freight Terminal is a large Intermodal freight transport, intermodal Rail transport, rail facility in the Perth suburb of Kewdale, Western Australia. Branching off the Kwinana freight railway, it was built in the 1960s to replace the Perth marshalling yard. Australian Islamic College is a multi-campus independent Islamic co-educational primary and secondary day school, located in Perth, Western Australia and Adelaide, South Australia. Abernethy Road
Abernethy Road is a long minor arterial road linking Belmont with the Great Eastern Highway Bypass in Hazelmere, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It runs along the eastern boundary of the Perth Airport area. It serves as an alternative access road for Perth Airport (via Grogan Road), and provides the foothills suburbs with alternative access to the Perth central business district. In 2014, an on-ramp joining with Tonkin Highway where Abernethy Road passes underneath was constructed, as part of Gateway WA. Orrong Road
Orrong Road is a major arterial road servicing the metropolitan area of Perth, Western Australia as well as the south-eastern continuation of the Graham Farmer Freeway. It is a dual carriageway for its entire length, with multiple sets of traffic lights. In addition to servicing the southeastern suburbs of Perth, the road provides a vital connection from the Perth CBD to Perth Airport, the Kewdale Freight Terminal and the Darling Scarp. It is designated H27 (''Rivervale–Wattle Grove Link'') in Main Roads' internal designation along with Welshpool Road East west of Tonkin Highway. Armadale/Thornlie Railway Line
The Armadale line is a suburban rail service in Western Australia that runs from Perth to Armadale on the South Western Railway. This service is planned to extend to the suburb of Byford over an new railway line constructed as part of the Byford Rail Extension project. The Thornlie line is a service that runs on the South Western Railway from Perth to a junction between Beckenham and Kenwick and continues on a short branch line to Thornlie that opened on 7 August 2005. The Division of Swan is an Australian electoral division located in Western Australia. Swan is a marginal electorate that has swung between both major political parties in the past two decades. It extends across the Swan River from central Perth, and covers most of the area between the Swan and Canning Rivers.
