Kew Association F.C.
Richmond & Kew Football Club is a football club based in Ham, England. They are currently members of the Southern Amateur League. History St Anne's Kew were founded in 1906 by St Anne's Church teacher Ken Leatherdale. Initially, the club exclusively featured players from the church, before changing their name to Kew Association in 1911, two years after joining the Middlesex County Amateur League. The club later played in the Amateur Football Association and the Southern Olympian League, before joining the Southern Amateur League in 1925. In the 1976–77 season, the same season the club entered the FA Vase for the first time, Kew Association won the Southern Amateur League. In the 2012–13 season, the club resigned from the Southern Amateur League halfway through the season. The club rejoined the league in time for the following season. Ham, London
Ham is a suburban district in Richmond, south-west London. It has meadows adjoining the River Thames where the Thames Path National Trail also runs. Most of Ham is in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and, chiefly, within the ward of Ham, Petersham and Richmond Riverside; the rest is in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames. The district has modest convenience shops and amenities, including a petrol station and several pubs, but its commerce is subsidiary to the nearby regional-level economic centre of Kingston upon Thames. The Greater London Women's Football League is an amateur competitive women's association football competition based in Greater London, England. The league is affiliated with the Amateur Football Alliance, Middlesex County Football Association, and London Football Association. Matches are played on Sundays. The league is at Tier 7 of the women's pyramid. It promotes to the London and South East Women's Regional Football League, and does not relegate to any league. History The league was founded in 1972 as the Hounslow and District Ladies Football League (H&DIST League) with two divisions, named Division A and Division B. Kew, London
Kew () is a district in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Its population at the 2011 census was 11,436. Kew is the location of the Royal Botanic Gardens ("Kew Gardens"), now a World Heritage Site, which includes Kew Palace. Kew is also the home of important historical documents such as Domesday Book, which is held at The National Archives. Julius Caesar may have forded the Thames at Kew in 54 BC during the Gallic Wars. The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames () in southwest London forms part of Outer London and is the only London borough on both sides of the River Thames. It was created in 1965 when three smaller council areas amalgamated under the London Government Act 1963. The Surrey South Eastern Combination is one of the three intermediate association football leagues based in the English county of Surrey (the others are the Surrey Elite Intermediate League and the Surrey County Intermediate League (Western)). It currently comprises clubs from the east of Surrey and parts of Greater London. It was founded in 1991. Southern Amateur Football League
The Southern Amateur League (SAL) is an association football league in England affiliated to the Amateur Football Alliance (AFA). It is based in and around Greater London and caters for 11–a–side men's adult teams. A feature of the league is 'multi-team football', common in AFA leagues, with clubs fielding an average of 4-5 teams each. For season 2021–22 the league has 40 open aged member clubs and a handful of veterans-only clubs running around 190 teams in 21 divisions. All clubs are strictly amateur. Club set-up, sportsmanship and hospitality As in other AFA leagues it is common for clubs to run several teams with some SAL clubs running up to 10 teams.
