Kevin Saurette
Kevin Saurette (born June 27, 1980) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward. Saurette began his professional career in 2006 in the ECHL for the Reading Royals where his spell also included two loan spells with the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League. In 2008, Saurette moved to Germany and played for ESV Kaufbeuren of the third-tier Oberliga where he scored 98 points in 59 games. In 2009 he moved to ETC Crimmitschau in the 2nd Bundesliga and stayed for two seasons before moving to the Fischtown Pinguins in 2011. He then returned to Kaufbeuren in 2012, who were now played in the 2nd Bundesliga, but left after 25 games and signed for the Belfast Giants in the Elite Ice Hockey League. Forward (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, a forward is a player, and a position on the ice, whose primary responsibility is to score and assist goals. Generally, the forwards try to stay in three different lanes of the ice going from goal to goal. It is not mandatory, however, to stay in a lane. Staying in a lane aids in forming the common offensive strategy known as a triangle. One forward obtains the puck and then the forwards pass it between themselves making the goalie move side to side. This strategy opens up the net for scoring opportunities. This strategy allows for a constant flow of the play, attempting to maintain the control of play by one team in the offensive zone. The forwards can pass to the defence players playing at the blue line, thus freeing up the play and allowing either a shot from the point (blue line position where the defence stands) or a pass back to the offence. The Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) is a Junior 'A' ice hockey league operating in the Canadian province of Manitoba and one of nine member leagues of the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL). The MJHL consists of thirteen teams all based within the province of Manitoba, eight of which qualify for each year's playoffs. The playoff champion is awarded the Turnbull Cup, the Junior 'A' championship trophy for the province of Manitoba.
