Kevin McDonald (footballer Born 1985)
Kevin Alan McDonald (born 26 June 1985 in Newcastle upon Tyne) is an English former professional footballer, coach, and current assistant manager of Kelty Hearts. Club career McDonald signed for Hibernian from Sunderland and made his senior debut on the final day of the 2003–04 season. He was loaned to Clyde for six months in 2006 and he then spent the 2006–07 season on loan at Airdrie United. McDonald was released by Hibs in 2007 and he then signed permanently for Airdrie. In June 2010 he moved onto Alloa Athletic. McDonald signed for Junior side Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic in June 2013. Coaching McDonald later signed for Musselburgh Athletic in 2014, where he would retire as a player and take up the assistant managers job at the club. He was appointed as permanent manager replacing Calvin Shand on 18 March 2019. McDonald would join brother in law Kevin Thomson as his assistant at Kelty Hearts on 29 May 2021. Scottish Junior Football Association
The Scottish Junior Football Association (SJFA) is an affiliated national association of the Scottish Football Association and is the governing body for the junior grade of football in Scotland. The term "junior" refers to the level of football played, not the age of the players. The closest equivalent terminology would be non-League football in England, the difference being that junior football in Scotland was not similarly integrated into its football league system until 2021. Founded in 1886, the SJFA is responsible for disciplinary matters within the grade, certain player registration procedures and organising the annual Scottish Junior Cup. The 2008–09 Scottish Challenge Cup, known as the ALBA Challenge Cup due to sponsorship reasons with MG Alba, was the 18th season of the competition, competed for by all 30 members of the Scottish Football League. The defending champions were St Johnstone, who defeated Dunfermline Athletic by 3–2 in the 2007 final. The competition was won by Airdrie United who defeated Ross County 3–2 on penalties following a 2–2 draw after extra time, the winning penalty was scored by Marc Smyth. Kevin Thomson
Kevin Thomson (born 14 October 1984) is a Scottish professional football coach and former player. Thomson played as a midfielder for Hibernian (three spells), Rangers, Middlesbrough and Dundee and represented Scotland. Thomson began his career with Hibernian, before joining Rangers in 2007 for a £2m transfer fee. Thomson won five major trophies with Rangers, including consecutive Scottish Premier League championships in 2009 and 2010. Thomson was also part of the Rangers side which reached the 2008 UEFA Cup Final. Middlesbrough signed Thomson for a fee of £2m in July 2010, but released him in January 2013 after an injury-hit spell. Thomson then rejoined Hibernian in March 2013, but was released in May 2014 after the club was relegated. He then signed for Dundee, before joining Hibernian for a third time.
