Kevin Lim (sailor)
Kevin Lim Leong Keat (born 27 September 1976) is a Malaysian former sailor, who specialized in the Laser class. He bagged two silver medals at the Asian Games (1998 and 2002) and became the first-ever Malaysian athlete in history to compete in four editions of the Summer Olympic Games (1996, 2000, 2004, and 2008). Before retiring from the sport in late 2008, Lim trained most of his career at the Woollahra Sailing Club in Sydney, Australia. Lim became the first Malaysian sailor to compete at the Olympics, making his debut as a 20-year-old in Atlanta 1996. There, he finished thirty-eighth overall in the inaugural Laser class with a net grade of 300. At the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Lim endured most of the races almost at the rear end of the field before finding his form to notch a second-place finish on the last leg, vaulting him to twenty-second overall with 145 net points. The 2000 Summer Olympics, officially the Games of the XXVII Olympiad and also known as Sydney 2000 (Dharug: ''Gadigal 2000''), the Millennium Olympic Games or the Games of the New Millennium, was an international multi-sport event held from 15 September to 1 October 2000 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
