Kevin Hunt (musician)
Kevin Hunt is an Australian jazz pianist and composer. Early life and education Hunt's first teacher was his father Ellis Hunt. He trained at The Sydney Conservatorium of Music, alongside musicians such as Don Burrows, James Morrison, and George Golla. His teachers included Chuck Yates, John Speight and David Levy. Career Hunt is a jazz pianist and composer. He has been a regular on the Jazz music scene since 1979, and has led his own ensembles performing his own compositions, but all those of classical composers like Johann Bach, Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel and Leonard Bernstein. He played in a trio called the JS Bach Trio, with Laurie Thompson and Gary Holgate. From 1984 until 1988 he worked with the Kinetic Theatre company, an was assistant musical director of for Pope John Paul II Youth Celebration. Jazz
Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with its roots in blues and ragtime. Since the 1920s Jazz Age, it has been recognized as a major form of musical expression in traditional and popular music. The Australian Entertainment Mo Awards (commonly known informally as the Mo Awards) were an annual Australian entertainment industry award, that where established in 1975, to recognise achievements in live entertainment in Australia. They were last awarded in 2016. Lucky Grills, actor and comedian came up with the idea to create an awards show to celebrate Australian Variety, during a meeting in 1975. The Mo Awards, initially were founded as the Star Awards and were a state honour in New South Wales only, local entertainers started the awards to promote the live entertainment industry in New South Wales. The 12th Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (generally known as the ARIA Music Awards or simply The ARIAS) was held on 20 October 1998 at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre. Simon Tedeschi
Simon Tedeschi (born 1 May 1981) is an Australian classical pianist and writer. Early life Tedeschi was born in Gosford to Mark Tedeschi QC, Senior Crown Prosecutor for New South Wales, and doctor Vivienne Tedeschi, the daughter of a Polish Holocaust survivor, Lucy Gershwin. Raised in a Reform Jewish household, he grew up on the North Shore of Sydney and attended Beaumont Road Public School in West Killara and St Andrew's Cathedral School in Sydney where the headmaster discouraged him from taking part in sports lest he damage his hands. Marie Wilson (born 20 April 1974) is an Australian singer and songwriter.
