Kevin Hambly
Kevin Hambly (born March 12, 1973) is an American volleyball coach. He previously coached at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign (2009–2017). Coaching his first team to a 26–6 record, he had reached at least the Sweet Sixteen or better in each of his team's appearances at the NCAA Tournament. On 30 January 2017, he accepted a job as head coach of the Stanford volleyball team, replacing John Dunning after he retired. Personal life Hambly was born in Simi Valley, California, and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation, Sport, and Tourism with an emphasis in sports management in 2006. He is married to Mary Coleman Hambly, who is both a former player (1995–98) and former assistant coach (2004–06) at Illinois. Kevin and Mary have two children, Joseph and Maura Hambly. A head coach, senior coach or manager is a professional at training and developing athletes. They typically hold a more public profile and are paid more than other coaches. NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship
The NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship refers to one of three championships in women's indoor volleyball contested by the NCAA since 1981: *NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship *NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championship *NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship From 1970 through 1980, before the NCAA governed women's collegiate athletics, the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women alone conducted the women's collegiate volleyball championships. Stanford Cardinal Women's Volleyball
The Stanford Cardinal women's volleyball team represents Stanford University in the Pac-12 Conference. They are currently led by head coach Kevin Hambly and play their home games at Maples Pavilion. The team has won nine NCAA national championships, the most of all time, and 21 regular season conference titles. They have finished as national runner-up eight times and appeared in the first 39 NCAA tournaments, failing to qualify for the postseason for the first time during the 2020–2021 season. The 2015 NCAA Division I women's volleyball tournament began December 4, 2015 and concluded on December 19 at CenturyLink Center, now known as CHI Health Center, in Omaha, Nebraska. The tournament field was determined on November 29, 2015. Nebraska swept Texas in the final to claim their fourth national championship. 2010 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Tournament
The 2010 NCAA Division I women's volleyball tournament began on December 2, 2010 and ended December 18, when Penn State swept California to win an unprecedented fourth straight NCAA title, making it their fifth overall. Penn State head coach Russ Rose became the first Division I coach to win five NCAA titles. 2009 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Tournament
The 2009 NCAA Division I women's volleyball tournament began on December 3, 2009 with 64 teams and ended on December 19, when Penn State defeated Texas, 3-2, in the NCAA National Championship match. With the win, Penn State won its fourth overall title, and became the first team in the history of women's intercollegiate volleyball to win three straight national titles. Penn State also became the first team in NCAA history to have two straight undefeated seasons, as the 2009 squad went 38-0 for the second straight year, extending the ongoing NCAA record of consecutive matches won (102). Big Ten Conference
The Big Ten Conference (stylized B1G, formerly the Western Conference and the Big Nine Conference) is the oldest Division I collegiate athletic conference in the United States. Illinois Fighting Illini Women's Volleyball
The Illinois Fighting Illini women's volleyball is the NCAA Division I intercollegiate volleyball program of the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, often referred to as "Illinois", located in Champaign, Illinois. The USC women's volleyball team is coached by first-year head coach Brad Keller, who was named to the position on February 20, 2020.
